A short reminder on losing your zeal and becoming fatigue in your ibadat…
Losing your enthusiasm and losing your energy after having قوة (after having strength), this is the natural state of the human being from a time of power to a time of weakness, as Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says, “and man was created weak.” (An nisaa, 4:28)
Concerning this matter of fatigue in ibadat, the Messanger (ﷺ) gave an example concerning this,
Where the companion Hanzalah al-Usaydi رضي الله عنه said,
I went and entered upon the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and I said: Hanzalah has become a hypocrite, O Messenger of Allah.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Why is that?”
I said: O Messenger of Allah, when we are with you, you remind us of the Fire and the Garden (Jannah) until it is as if we are seeing them with our own eyes, but when we depart from you, we attend to our wives and children and businesses, and we forget a great deal.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “By the One in Whose hand is my soul if you continued as you are when you are with me, and continued to remember (Paradise and Hell), the angels would shake hands with you in your homes and on the streets. But, O Hanzalah, there is a time for this and a time for that,” (he said it) three times.
Narrated by Muslim (2750)
Be zealous in what benefits you, when some of us hear that there is a profit in the worldly life, we have enthusiasm and we have energy, however, with greater preference we should be like this with acts of worship. They say that the best worship is to do what will please the Lord at every time in accordance with what that particular time calls for. [Ibn al-Qayyim; ‘Madarij as-Salikin’ (1/188)]
We must seek refuge with Allah from that which takes away our energy and zeal as it came to us from the narration of:
Anas bin Malik رضي الله عنه said,
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Allah! I seek refuge with You from helplessness, laziness.”
[Sahih Bukhari - Book 52 - Hadith 77]
With no doubt we all have these moments of fatigue especially in the society we live in today, this lack of enthusiasm and fatigue is caused by sins. It weakens the heart and disobedience continues to weaken the heart until its life ceases completely. Know that honour lies in the obedience of Allah. Ibn Al-Mubarak said: “I have seen sins kill the hearts. And humiliation is inherited by its repetition.“
Mentioned by: AbdulFattaah Bin Uthman Abu Fajr حفظه الله

Sar utha ke maine to kitni khwahishein ki thi,
Kitne khwab dekhe the, kitni koshishein ki thi,
Jab tu rubaroo aaya, nazre naa mila paaya,
Sar jhuka ke ek pal mein maine kya nahi paaya.
