hey there! i am really confused about how all this iBSc thing works my med school has been absolutely unhelpful... like is my 'centile position' and how I did in my exams important when i try to apply (especially if i am applying to external unis). because i kinda want to leave my uni but also I have never done particularly well in my exams, i've always just managed to scrape a pass... and can i apply to as many as i want or is it just 5 universities?

I’m afraid I’m not going to be much use for you in this question, but hopefully other medblrs out there might know the answer? 

I intercalated within my own uni and we don’t intercalate on courses that are only set up for medics (so i did a masters that is offered by the uni to anyone, and only 6/50 were med students). For my uni to allow us to intercalate, we had to have passed all of our exams on first attempt, but basically anyone that applied could intercalate if the course they wanted to do accepted them as well. 

I honestly don’t know how many you can apply to or how the application process works for the iBSc. I do know that a lot of unis give priority to students studying medicine at their own university, so that makes it harder anyway. 

If anyone knows any more about the iBSc then please get in touch/reply to this post! Sorry I couldn’t be more help, or could you perhaps find people that have done it in the years above you?

IBS is kicking my butt. i went out to dinner with my godfather and forgot to take my probiotic before i left and now i’m hunched over the toilet in the restaurant crying because i just want to eat good food without my stomach feeling like it’s going to explode

My favorite thing is when you go to the bathroom to pee real quick and it turns into your body deciding this is the perfect time to take an hour long attempt at a bowel movement, even though you've had zero indication this was going to happen
