not technically kirby related but there's a cute little slice of life series called poyo poyo kansatsu nikki that I stumbled upon browsing crunchyroll years and years ago, about a very round cat. who also says poyo. I think I've drawn him once. tbh I think of him first when I hear poyo, but I think of kirby first when I hear hi.

Okay so first of all. bombardier beetles are a kind of dragon. to me. Secondly, if you were to pick any other kind of bug to become a tiny fire breathing dragon, what would you pick, why, and do you have a good high quality reference photo that i can draw it into a dragon from? Preferably one that shows the face in detail with mouth/mouthparts open.

I agree they could be dragons. If I got to see any bug as a dragon I'd like to see one of my favorite species, Idolomantis diabolica, or the giant devil's flower mantis.

Lots of photos on iNaturalist here or ones I can't share legally just on google. I've seen a ton of close-up shots of them but none I recall have open mouthparts. You could always use close-ups of other mantis mouthparts for references, they would be pretty much identical.

If you do decide to draw one as a dragon, I'd love to see it when you're finished!
