For some reason I started thinking about the many shenanigans I used to have with a friend named Christina back in elementary and middle school. This is far from the strangest thing we ever did but one time we found a tomato and a yam that someone threw into the field by her house and we named them Enrique and Priscilla and took them home and made them little clothes out of extra fabric (I’m pretty sure we also put earrings in Priscilla) and then put them in a shoebox in Christina’s closet and she kept them for literal years and they eventually shriveled up and basically mummified and we would check on them every now and then when I went to her house because we thought it was hilarious. I have no earthly idea why we did this and it just now occurred to me that this is perhaps not a normal childhood experience.
