I can't get over that drama CD! They sang a duet of a song all about Klavier leaving his old life and dalliances behind to seek the truth with Apollo? The part that mentions Herr Forehead is Apollo's favorite part? Apollo says he's never felt this way before and his opinion of the music flips because it reminds him of their passionate courtroom battles? Klavier says he never expected to win his heart and calls him "Apollo" finally? I never expected such softness and honesty... a de facto couple

IT FEELS LIKE SUCH A FEVER DREAM. I'll admit I just put it on to listen to every once in a while because it makes me smile, it's such silly fun ♥️

I LOVE Apollo realizing the way he's hearing the music has changed because that's totally happened to me, there'll be a song that I just don't get until I hear it in a different context, and now it reminds me of a friend or something and I love it. That's so real.

The duet K+A do also leads me to thinking of a scenario where Klavier encourages Apollo to collaborate with him, and that's how we get the version of Apollo's theme with lyrics. With Klavier doing his solos in the bg. (And that would in-universe tie their songs together, since Guilty Love ends with the A New Chapter of Trials riff.)

Other things unrelated to Klapollo: I like the small moment where Klavier is sort of hesitant to greet Phoenix like he's worried, but Phoenix just congratulates him and they move past it. That's nice, to actually have some acknowledgement of the potential awkward tension between them.

Also:

Phoenix: You need to turn your thinking around! 😎

The others: Ok, how?

Phoenix: 😎 .........no idea!

Apollo: 😑 ok so you're just full of it

That post where you shared what Astarion will say to Origin Karlach about Wyll getting his devilish features made me dig for if he has a line for Origin Wyll... and he does!

Can I just say I'm elated? I literally sent in feedback to Larian a few months ago complaining that there wasn't any reactivity other than with Karlach when Wyll (as an Origin or companion) was transformed, so I'm really happy to see this is coming!!!

I'm really happy about it too! I checked the files again and it looks like everyone else got a new line about it!

Gale (to Avatar Wyll): You look, erm... Well the main thing is, you're alive. Plenty to be grateful for, horns or no horns.

Gale (about Wyll): I can't help feeling Wyll got off lightly. The wrath of the hells is second only [to] the wrath of the heavens. Gale: Having a devil in our camp will certainly make things interesting. Never a dull day, is there?

Lae'zel (to Wyll): The Blade of Frontiers in the guise of a devil. I'd remark on the irony, but I'd hate to waste the breath. Lae'zel: Still - it took guts to defy that petty patron of yours. The Blade's sting is real.

Lae'zel says the same thing to Tav but with 'yours' changed to 'his'.

Shadowheart (to Wyll): I'm sorry that happened to you, Wyll - that bat-winged slattern deserves to meet the business end of a poo-scraper. Shadowheart: But if it's any consolation, the new look is rather rugged...

Shadowheart (about Wyll): I hope Mizora flies into the blades of a windmill for what she did to Wyll... though I must admit the new look is a little dashing...

It's not on the poll, but I'd love to have a big house centipede as a pet! They keep themselves clean, thrive in the environment of a house, they are good pest control, and they'd need so little care other than just making the house safe for them! And all of this applies to them as they are already... excellent!

You'd have to have a home full of rather large and plentiful pests to satisfy a dog-sized house centipede lol

I noticed you were doing an Astarion run and romancing Wyll, so I thought maybe you could check something. Thanks to the person who parsed the dialogues in the game, I found a cute exchange:

But I'm currently doing an Origin Astarion run myself and I think it may be impossible to get this scene even though I tried? The code makes it seem like it's supposed to happen on the third night, after you've found a possible lead to a cure—the same night you can get the exchange with Lae'zel reminiscing about the Tears. But instead, no matter how much I long rest, the only early Wyll dialogue scenes that ever seem to trigger for me are the one in which he asks if you've ever heard a banshee, and another in which he says your worms made fast friends. Is this bugged or am I just unlucky? It looks like there's supposed to be special versions for Origin Karlach and Lae'zel too:

And sadly I think the Karlach one would be DOUBLY impossible to get because wouldn't Wyll being punished by Mizora take precedence?

You said questions are okay so... are these ships rarepairs? Many of them have multiple hundreds of works on AO3, for example! Off the top of my head for round two, Blitzbee, Wavewave, Starwave are all like that. Blitzbee is one of the most popular TFA ships, and Wavewave is super popular as well, being shipped in all continuities and has been for ages. And Starwave is almost as popular now too (but people normally call it SoundStar). It even has its own ship week! And DOOP is the second-most popular ship in the BW fandom (though BW fandom is relatively small so I do get calling any BW ship a rarepair). I'm just not sure how fair it is for something like Omegastator to be in this bracket with something like Wavewave when one has literally more than a hundred-times the fics (not to mention art and other content)

Hey! Yeah, you make a lot of valid points! I'm gonna be honest, I didn't expect this to blow up the way it did. The ships were decided via a list me and my friends came up with, tho I'm aware that our circle is just one of many in the tf fandom. If you or anyone has suggestions on how to shift the polls around, add or take away ships, I'd super love to hear them, the last thing I wanna do is make this competition unfair!

Ooh, sorry for taking a few days to reply, icykali! Sometimes I just get a little frozen when I have to think too much about my own nonsense and need time to think. Thanks for the ask! 

It’s difficult because I am very pleased about a lot things with that fic, but I think the thing I like best is the way the reader sees Garak through Kira’s eyes. Partly as just a Cardassian; partly as a male Cardassian who is a threat to Ziyal and who might have been a threat to Kira in the past; partly as Garak, a sort of annoyance to her today whom she just doesn’t have time to deal with. But then we see how her perception of him changes and she immediately becomes sympathetic when she learns what we as readers already know about his sexuality. I’m happy with the way I balanced all of these different views of Garak and with the way Kira's opinion changes just a little by the end.

I also need to give credit to Author376 for their fic Perception, which originated the term ‘Reflector’ that I use in my fic, and is a really great exploration of notions of masculinity and queerness in different cultures (Bajoran and other). It’s clever and hilarious and features Kira and Jadzia.

B and C

B - A pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone changed your mind

Probably Quodo! I’m not huge into Quodo still, but I’d genuinely never considered it at all until I saw the fandom stuff about it. In retrospect it seems very obvious! And I guess Brunt/Quark too - lol, so I guess I was just oblivious to any non-canon pairing featuring Quark! I was a little curious about Dayoun just from their interactions on the show, but Icy your post about that really sealed the deal for me on those two, so imma say that counts as well!!

C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will (be nice)

Frankly, any canon-Bashir relationship. Him and Leeta was probably the best of the bunch, just because it was very B-plot and in the background most of the time (and she wasn’t his patient). But the stuff in season 7 about how Bashir’s crush on Jadzia had persisted... tbh I wasn’t really wild about that revelation. I much preferred them as platonic friends. Ezri/Bashir also makes me uncomfortable. I was more than a bit disappointed that Ezri/Bashir was the “happy ending” for both of those characters - it felt very sudden and I didn’t find their chemistry believable.
