I am not a discourse / drama blog , but this really irks me so I shall rant about it .

I hate it how radnormals or any sort of anti will accuse a radqueer of being " brainwashed " . I feel like it 's ... ableist , for a lack of better terms , I suppose . It feels like they are watering down a specific , traumatizing action to just someone just believing that every marginalized group needs radical acceptance and understanding because , they too , are deserving of kindness and warmth .

Here is how brainwashing is described : " a forcible indoctrination to induce someone to give up basic political, social, or religious beliefs and attitudes and to accept contrasting regimented ideas " ... That is not what us radqueers and adjacents do . Of course , there are bad apples out there who believe you must forcefully make others believe the same but they are wrong . You can 't completely force someone to believe what you do , as it brings harm and makes our community and cause look bad .

I feel like those antis do not properly know of what brainwashing is , or cults in general ( if they call us a cult ) . Of course , if there is an anti who has experienced a cult or brainwashing , then sure , I 'll consider their opinion .

While I do not wish to gatekeep terms — as I believe restricting labels has harmful connotations — but considering the historical context behind sodomite and the fact it was largely used against homosexual men , such as myself in my source , I would prefer if only homosexual men would reclaim this slur .

A sodomite is a a term historically and generally used to refer to someone who practices sodomy , usually used derogatorially towards , at the time , homosexual cisgender males . Sodomy ; traditionally refers to acts of anal or oral sex .

The flag is thirteen - striped with lace - like decorations at the first and last stripe and goes from purple to green , because the purple represents how the lighter shades the quiet signals used between homosexual men to identify each other in public , and the green shades represents the green carnation Oscar Wilde ( me ! ) made popular as a subtle symbol of homosexuality . The lace - like decoration represents the way homosexual men historically had to lace their words with double meanings to survive .
