"Mate, have you seen my phone?"
The yell came from down the hallway as Max was sitting on the bench by the door to put on his sneakers. The shout made him pause for a second before he shook his head with a sigh because this was typical of Lando.
Of course, when they were rushing out the door to make it to the airport for a flight, he would lose his phone. Honestly, if Max hadn't packed their passports himself and had them tucked into his neatly packed backpack, Lando would have lost that too.
"Did you check your pockets?", Max shouted back after another frantic call of his name, "Or that bomb site you call a backpack?"
"Don't you start on my bag!", Lando poked his head around the corner to glare at Max, "It's better than yours. I bet you don't even know where your passport is"
"Bob, do you know where your passport is?", Max pointed a finger at him, knowing it was safely tucked away with his, but the way Lando's face dropped at the question was worth it.
Lando didn't even respond, he just disappeared back around the corner, mumbling curse words. Max listened to the chaos, trying to decide when he should tell Lando that he had the passports and if he should help him look for his phone but then Lando was skidding back into view.
"How did I loose it? I swear it was in the bedside drawer?", Lando mumbled, reaching for the decorative table in the hallway where he normally threw his keys, searching it as if it would magically appear.
Max took pity on him with a soft chuckle and shake of his head. With sneakers properly on, he walked over to Lando and grabbed him around the waist, stopping his panicking.
"Bob, I have your passport", Max laughed, not even bothering to move away when Lando slapped his chest. He simply leaned in and stole a kiss from a disgruntled Lando before muttering, "Your phone is in your pocket, you idiot"
The noise Lando made wasn't entirely human, but it had Max laughing all the way to the car.
