Since Death is already halfway complete, it is time. We need to talk about this character.
I’ve been building a series of longfics around him quietly in the background for months. He’s the source of the 10k Zero Draft, and the original outline was 101 chapters.
To level: the 20+ chapters I’ve written from the middle for spoon recovery make it clear it will be much, much longer.
So far, I know of five people who have read those chapters: @prettyliminal @autumnmobile12 @ibbgun @akemisalem @moonchild8912. There are two additional people with access. If you’ve read it, let me know, and I’ll tag you.
This idiot loon is incredibly special to me. Everything about him is intentional—from his markings to his personality quirks..
Some other notes:
1. Upload Schedule: As I start the story from a proper Chapter One, I will adopt an “as it’s done” upload schedule. I’ll maintain a minimum once-a-week upload, and I can use the finished fics (e.g., Blackbird) and completed parts of his story to fill any gaps.
2. Why the Delay: His world is very full, and Hawks is just in it. I had to staff a gastropub, a club, a shrine... I had to layer everything correctly in his character building, nail down his motivation and personality, and get comfortable writing explicit mlm again.
3. Regarding Explicit Content: I’m doing something with the chapters I haven’t seen done before. Each chapter will have a letter rating, and the E‑rated chapters will be entirely optional. The fade‑to‑black versions will contain all the same emotional beats for readers who don’t want explicit content. This does mean that chapters leading up to explicit content will be delayed, ensuring that readers who prefer not to engage with pornographic material still receive the full narrative experience.
