In which the first years find out you're engaged, and to whom.
Arranged marriage au.
In which you meet for the first time.
" You're already engaged?!"
Nobara Kugisaki's mouth is wide open as she grabs your hand, studying the ring that fits you taste.
You smile at her reaction as you nod, allowing her to look at it.
Today, you, along with the other second years, are training the first years, as Gojo was sent off to a mission.
Currently, everyone was seated on the lush ground.
Nobara can't see it, but from opposite you, Toge grins, his blush and expression hidden behind his high collar.
" Why? You're so young! He must be amazing if he managed to pull you!"
You blush at her words.
" Thanks. It started out as an arranged marriage actually."
" What?- Wait so you don't love him? Do we need to help you get rid of him and escape?"
Nobara is serious, and you can't help but snort.
" Ah, don't worry-"
Your gaze shies away, the hand she's holding pulling away as you pluck at the grass below you. You blush as you continue to speak.
" We might've started out arranged, but we've fallen for each other along the line."
Nobara blinks, taken by surprise.
" How long have you known each other?"
" Since halfway through middle school. We were introduced with the announcement of our marriage."
" I see. When are you getting married?- Oh, I'm invited too, right? Do you need a maid of honor?"
You smile at her enthusiasm.
" We're set to marry once we graduate. And of course you're invited. Maki's already my maid of honor though."
From beside you, Maki smiles.
Meanwhile Nobara's eyes widen in realization.
" Once you both graduate? Your family is a Jujutsu clan right?!-"
" Are you going to marry Panda?"
Everyone turns to Yuuji with an obvious questioning expression in their eyes.
From beside him, Megumi smacks him upside the head.
" No, idiot. She's engaged to Inumaki."
Yuuji whines as he holds his head.
" That was my second guess."
Nobara blinks between the two of you. Opposite you, Inumaki gets up, moving over to plop down closely besides you. You smile as he does so, leaning over to press a kiss to his cheek in greeting.
This time, everyone notices the blush on his cheeks.
" No way! You?!"
You're not sure if that's a negative or positive reaction.
" Salmon."
" Is there something wrong?"
Nobara hurriedly shakes her head.
" No, I just didn't know. I'm surprised. I've rarely seen you two sit beside one another in class, or spar together, or do anything together except for eating lunch side by side, so- and how do you even communicate?"
You grin at her. From behind his pulled up collar, Inumaki does the same.
" We've been dating since before Jujutsu Tech. We know each other well and respect each other's space. Besides, our class is small, and we already hang out a lot outside of class as well. Besides, once you're together for long enough, you kind of just know how to communicate without communicating, you get me?"
Nobara's looking at you with wide eyes, obviously intrigued by this newfound information.
" So you're basically already married?"
You and Toge exchange looks, the both of you shrugging.
He picks up your hand which was resting on the ground, holding it in his lap as he messes with the engagement ring he willingly got you. Just like every clan marriage, it was mostly meant for on the papers. To continue the bloodline eventually. He had never been given a ring to give you, and you never asked for one.
Nonetheless, he's happy he did, proud to show you off and already be able to call you his.
" Almost."
[A/N: Lowkey crave a full blown story for Inumaki in an arranged marriage au tbh.]
You being Ghazan and Ming Hua's child. You're a few years younger than Korra.
Your story starts out unique. You're the child of two powerful benders after all, who are guided by their natural sense of order and chaos.
And before they end up in prison, they take you with them. Anywhere, any place. It was rare for them to leave you behind.
You're an earth bender too, and a mighty powerful one at that. Of course, you're no match for adults as a child, but your parents are protective, and crazy. They often take you to the battle field and have your back, always.
Of course, P'li and Zaheer have your back too. You're subjected to martial arts training at a young age. ( Being taught by none other than Zaheer, who was a powerful nonbender at the time.) You might not be strong enough to bend the most things yet, but they'll make sure you're capable of handling yourself to a certain level.
Zaheer and Ghazan are the two who teach you every martial art they know.
Ghazan is particularly proud of you because you're an earthbender. Of course, Ming Hua is proud too, happy with you as their child.
And truthfully, you're happy too. You're loved and you get a lot of attention.
You don't go to school, but Ming Hua and Zaheer teach you how to write and read.
You're not great at academics, but you are smart.
P'Li might not be described a lot right now, but she is absolutely fond of you.
And she's the last person between you and the White Lotus, and Tonraq, Korra's father, the day they get arrested.
P'li is nervous. Things are going grim, your parents are already getting wrapped up, and Zaheer is restrained by now.
He glances up to where the two of you are stood, where P'li holds a protective hand in front of you. One you hold closely, tears in your eyes as you glance between Zaheer and P'li, seeing the struggling bodies of your parents.
" I want to help. I can help." You cry.
You can't, you're only a child. You're too young right now. Not strong enough.
P'li has tears in her eyes as Zaheer yells at the both of you.
" Run!"
They're criminals, but you're their soft spot.
P'li shakes her head, gently nudging you back.
" Run, Y/N. Let me handle this. "
You don't. You're as stubborn as your parents. You don't want to abandon them.
You look at P'li with tears in your eyes.
She's focused, gentle nudging you again as she focuses on the group in front of you.
You don't run. Don't escape.
And this changes your life forever.
Everyone is captured and separated, you included.
But everyone in the White Lotus and the police are conflicted on what to do with you.
You're just a child after all. (I know Korra was attempted to be captured at an age too young for her to remember, but for the sake of this story, let's pretend this happened somewhere when she was between 5-8.)
Imagine everyone's surprise when none other than Lin Beifong steps up, offering to take you in.
Of course, her request is granted.
Absolutely no one expected that. Including your parents.
They're enraged when they find out in their respective cells. But then again, their prisons are build in a way so they remain powerless.
You grew up in the Red Lotus, so of course, you're different from other children.
You're poised against the avatar. In favor of chaotic natural order like the group you grew up in.
And Lin doesn't blame you. In a way, she sees herself in you.
( Not for the chaotic order- more in the sense of your parents misguiding you.)
She's not sure what your life was like before you ended up in her care, but she assumes it was tough, much like hers.
(She's wrong, but in the first few weeks, you rarely speak to her, so she doesn't know.)
In the first weeks, you both keep your distance.
Lin doesn't have any kids or a husband after all, so she's unsure on what to do with you, or how to handle you.
Until one day, you come crying to her. Asking when you're allowed to go home.
It breaks her tough heart.
She sighs, and explains that your parents are bad people. And that they're in prison.
It doesn't make anything better, and you wonder when you're allowed to see them again.
She never answers that question.
Time passes, and she softens up with you, and you do the same.
You're an earthbender of course, so she teaches you how to metal bend.
You don't have the talent for it. It takes weeks to get you to be able to make a chunk of metal change shape, much more to actually get down the basics.
Metal bending isn't a talent for you, it takes a lot of time and practice.
Lin has a good guess on what subelement your better luck has, but she doesn't dare tell you.
She doesn't tell you that you are most probably a lava bender.
You find out yourself, years later.
By now, questions of your parents have passed. You do remember and care for them, but your years at the police chef's side teach you that they were bad people.
You don't necessarily agree, nor do you really understand.
Your morals are guided by loyalty.
You wouldn't know who to follow if you would ever see your parents again.
Eventually, you find out you're a lavabender.
You're really happy when you find out. (I'll leave how up to you.) Memories of the moves your father taught you guiding you on how to use the element with efficiency.
Of course, you do have talent for that.
Lin is surprised, and less excited about it.
You don't much care.
( Although your morals are a wreck, you are pretty care free.)
She softens up when you grin about being able to help her now.
You start carrying around rocks in your pocket, much like your father did. (even though you have no idea.)
Lin can see that you're undoubtedly the child of your parents, but she's glad she stepped into your life to change your faith.
You quickly become one of the strongest benders Republic City.
(Though your lavabending is kept as a secret. Lin tells you that it's acquainted with bad beliefs, and considering you were still young around this time, you obey.)
You want to go out and see the world, but Lin doesn't allow you.
She trusts you with her life, and with a lot of other things, but she doesn't like it when you leave her side.
She tells herself it's because she doesn't want you to turn out like your parents.
You're not a cop though. Not into profbending either. You're really trying to find your calling in life.
The day you meet Korra is a little tense. Korra has no idea who you are, given that you stayed out of her gaze when your parents and the Red Lotus tried to catch her, but you do know who she is.
You don't kick it off as friends. At least, not until very much later.
Korra was different when she came to Republic City after all.
However, the one thing you have in common is the last airbending family.
Surprisingly enough, Pemma is very fond of you.
It's not a surprise that her kids see you as their older sibling. You spend a lot of your time there (you didn't really care how much Lin disliked that at the beginning.)
It's a given that you see Korra around often, and you keep your distance.
Until you simply don't anymore.
Korra is surprised, when you approach her when she feels lost one certain day, lost in thoughts as she stares blankly at the river separating Republic City and Airbender Island.
The two of you end up having a good talk. You admit you're often lost too, feel like this isn't while you're meant to be. Meanwhile she tells you about how much pressure she often feels, how she wishes she could have more answers to most things.
You become friends.
Months later, she asks you to come along when the airbenders spring up all over the earth kingdom.
It takes a lot of asking and convincing for Lin, but with a sigh, she allows you to go as long as Mako goes.
So of course, you pull Bolin along and convince Mako.
( You know Mako since he joined the police. And until he broke up with the avatar, you are acquaintances at most. You do become friends eventually some time after their break up, realizing he's fun to talk to. Surprisingly enough, you become best friends. )
Lin has never been more nervous as she actually sees you off.
She doesn't realize why yet, but Tenzin does.
She fusses over you as you leave her side for the first time in years, and Tenzin places a hand on her shoulder to ease her worries.
(Also, a funny detail is that absolutely no one has any idea that you're not Lin's legit child.- No one knows you're adopted of some sort. They all think that you look more like your father, and that he walked out somewhere early in your life. No one dares question it because Lin is intimidating.)
Your journey to the earth kingdom is fun.
Until Ba Sing Se.
You pretty much hate it at first sight.
Especially those walls.
What was the point to divide the rich from the poor? The strong from the weak?
You don't get too much time to ponder over it.
The Earth Queen apparently holds the airbenders you've all been missing after all.
And then Lin suddenly arrives.
You've always felt care free so far, but now you're confused as Lin notifies the group that your parents, Zaheer and P'li have escaped.
She wants you and Korra back at Republic City, where she can watch over you.
However, Korra doesn't agree, and neither do you.
The airbenders the queen has captured need your help.
That night, it's your absolute pleasure to take your anger and conflicted feelings out on the Dai Li.
Originally, Tenzin thought you were weak.
He's never seen you fight before, and Lin was always so protective of you, there was simply no other reason for her to be that worried, right?
Until he watches you take out an entire force of Dai Li agents by yourself.
(You remember that scene where the Dai Li surround the palace once they've broken the airbenders out? No one needs to move a muscle, you clear them all by yourself.
Also, remember that scene where Mako, Bolin and Kai are running from Dai Li agents who have risen on pillars and are launching their glove thingies at them?
Yeah, you're an absolute badass, jumping from Oogie and causing the ground to rumble, taking down the pillars the Dai Li are stood on.)
Later on, he glances at Lin with wide eyes.
Why did she hide you away all this time?
He guesses that with your unique combat style, you could've taken down Amon yourself.
She's kept you in the shadows in book 1 and 2.
[A/N: mostly bc I feel lazy, might change that if people want more of the story.]
You were enraged when Amon took her bending, but she wanted you to remain in the shadows, to not only not attract attention, but also to keep you shielded.
She's overprotective of you. Even though you're one of the strongest benders out there.
You're the only person she has. The only person who knows exactly how she works, feels and thinks.
Her biggest fear is losing you.
She also orders you to stay in the zeppelin with her when you finally arrive at Zaofu.
You already know she hates her sister.
She's told you things here and there when you were a child.
You truely are her safe haven.
At first, although pouting, you do. You recognize her as a parental figure after all.
But you're not stupid. You know exactly why she's keeping you with her.
You know she's mostly just keeping you with her like a safety blanket. And you don't mind.
You let her be, offering simple comfort by talking about nonsense.
Meanwhile, not too long after the others leave, they return to fetch you and Lin.
You're excited when you finally meet Su Beifong.
Lin is not. (Her issue.)
Soon enough Su is introducing everyone, passing by Wei and Wing first.
They appear to be playing some kind of game, and that intrigues you.
Unbeknownst to you, one of the twins already spots you from the corner of his eye. (Hence why Wei has managed to score a goal against his brother- he was a tad bit distracted by you.)
You and the twins immediately hit it off.
The rest of the Beifong family views you as a cousin, valuing you as much as they value Kuvira, like another sister (in law?)
Lin might be having issues, but you feel right at home.
Speaking of Kuvira, the two of you hit it right off.
If anything, she feels like the sister you never had. The two of you bond over being adopted by the Beifong families.
You tell her about your lavabending abilities too, and she's impressed, interested even.
Meanwhile, your parents, Zaheer and P'li have broken out of their prisons alltogether now.
Your parents' first concern is getting you back with them, and Zaheer and P'li agree.
They haven't seen you in 13 long years. You were 5 when they took you.
You are 18 now.
They're angry at Republic City, at Lin Beifong for stealing their kid.
And they will make Lin pay.
They will bring justice to the world order, and they'll get you back.
They want you back as quickly as possible, but they know they need to be careful in planning.
Lin Beifong was a formidable bender after all. They couldn't just come knocking at her door.
Imagine their surprise when they find out you're with the Avatar.
It confuses them. It's bound to bring trouble for their cause.
Ever since they had you, they had always imagined fighting with you side by side, bringing down world governments and what not.
You're not fighting against the avatar, nor do you know her by name like everyone else.
You're her friend.
Everyone knows this will bring issues, but it doesn't matter.
You belong with them. Not the people who took you.
Meanwhile you're having the time of your life at Zaofu.
You play Wei and Wing' their own invented game. You train and hang out a lot with Kuvira, and of course, you hang out with the Avatar team too.
You and Wing grow closer especially.
You two hit it right off. You enjoy sparring with each other first, but then you and him start actually talking, getting to know each other at a more personal level.
You might only know each other for a few days by now, but you're quick to call each other best friends.
Both of you have feelings for each other, but it remains unspoken for now.
You don't interfere when Lin and Su start fighting.
Something in you tells you that fighting is a part of the natural order of life. Like a faded memory brimming at the edge of your consciousness.
You're also the one to check up on her the next morning, very excited to find out that she's gotten some sense into her now.
You have no idea how, but you're happy about it nonetheless.
Meanwhile, your parents, Zaheer and P'li have made a plan.
The avatar isn't the only one they'll be taking from Zaofu.
They expect you to be difficult. In the worst case, you might not even remember them.
They take you and Korra the same night.
Or at least attempt to.
You're not awake to witness the crisis go down.
You don't have an animal companion, so knocking you out was the easy part.
Getting Korra was harder, not to mention the part when everyone is awake, and aware that they're there.
Lin especially is concerned, fighting more fiercely than she ever has.
Like hell that she'll allow these criminals to take her kid.
She cares for you like her own. And as far as she's concerned, you are her kid.
And she's not the only one who's concerned over you.
Kuvira and Wing are also sweating about your wellbeing.
However, your parents feel ecstatic, though they remain focused.
After so long, they're finally able to bring you home.
The night is filled with tension surrounding you.
" We don't need to come from under them. We can come from above."
Lin is quick to agree on Su's plan.
Things are tense, but in the end, both Lin and Su manage to come down from the ceiling, safe from P'li thanks to Bolin's quick skill.
Which leaves them to deal with your parents.
Ghazan' eyes widen at the sight of Su and Lin.
You and Korra are laid together in the middle of their makeshift island.
Ming Hua is busy defending P'li and Ghazan as it is.
Su is quicker at first, knocking Ghazan off his feet.
But he's quick to get back up. Though he's not focused on getting the avatar.
And Lin is the first to realize it.
She'll have to choose between the person she recognizes as her child and the avatar.
She hates it, but there's only one logical answer.
They would never harm you, evident in the way Ghazan was shielding you, not Korra.
Su would never leave with only one person of two, but even she realizes that they have no other options.
Ghazan was already aiming his lava at them, and Ming Hua was already turning around.
They nearly get Korra back in their hands too as Ming Hua gets a hold of her, only to be blocked by Mako.
And Zaheer returns, only failing in getting Korra too thanks to Su's quick thinking.
Su and Lin only return with Korra as the Red Lotus creates their smooth escape.
Wing is the first to be angry, asking Lin and his mother why they allowed them to take you.
It's hard to get it through that they didn't have much of a choice.
Once down with the rest of the group, the rest of the people there are heartbroken to see you're not with them.
Kuvira especially is enraged.
She has a strong sense of right and wrong after all.
She's quick to turn to Su, angry.
" How could you leave her?! Those people are criminals! They'll kill her!"
" No they won't. "
Lin tells them with a new kind of confidence. One that even makes Mako nervous.
" Chef?"
" They won't harm her. Ghazan and Ming Hua are her parents."
Now that is something absolutely no one expected.
[A/N: Eheheheh I've already decided I'll make a part 2. Anyway enjoy this cliff hanger.]
Street racer! Suguru, who you go from enemies to lovers with in the most unique way.
You met when you were around 17 years old.
Originally you two didn't click.
Yes, he's gorgeous, and charismatic, but also arrogant and seems to not value women, or at least, that's what you think.
You don't race. You're only at the car meets and alike because your best friend, Ryomen Sukuna, races. (Besides- You don't have a driver's license.)
Originally, Suguru never looked at you twice.
Yes, he knew who you were, and sure, you were at least kinda good looking.
But not pretty by his standard.
You don't wear short skirts, nor show off a lot of skin. Nah, you wear whatever you want, and it's always a question whenever you're in the mood to have been wearing make up that night.
You're the simple kind of girl who doesn't catch his eye. (Enough girls did though, he was rarely single.)
Your best friend, however, is a whole different story.
Ryomen Sukuna was quick, amazingly so. Perhaps even the fastest on track.
Suguru's best friend Satoru is the only one who can keep up.
It somehow weaves you into their friend group (Satoru, Suguru, Shoko, and now Sukuna and you.)
And at first, Suguru doesn't care.
Until you show you do.
There's a simple code the streetracers you surround yourself with keep.
'Don't hit a pedestrian. '
Simple enough.
They choose to race, and they've sworn off of accidentally taking lives because they love to be reckless.
Suguru is forced to honor that code one fateful night, years later (you're now 21), when a drunk teenager stumbles across the road, forcing him to hit a tree.
The damage was as expected.
The other kid he was racing had crashed too, his girlfriend injured in his passenger seat, guilt and panic overtaking his actions.
He doesn't notice Suguru, heavily injured in his own car.
You're the first to notice that he's late.
Suguru lost occasionally, sure, but the other kid hasn't arrived either, which was suspicious.
With a sigh, you had turned to Satoru, who was chatting up a girl he was known for having the hots for (she still hasn't agreed to let him take her out), but he had simply waved you off.
Rolling your eyes, you turn to Sukuna instead calling him to check out their track, see if something happened.
He agrees. ( He'll take any excuse to drive anywhere, anytime.)
Of course, you come across the scene of the crash.
Sukuna is quick to call the cops, while you race over to Suguru with wide eyes.
He's stuck in the car, heavily injured.
He's barely able to keep his eyes open as he looks at you.
He's unable to speak for the moment.
But he thinks an angel had come to take him up to heaven when you tenderly cup his cheek and fuss over his injuries.
That night, you spend the night in jail, along with most of your friends, with Suguru in the hospital.
Your mom and older brother were not amused as they bailed you and Sukuna out of jail. (Your father found it hilarious.)
The next day, you visit Suguru.
He's touched, and surprised.
He only expected Satoru to visit, maybe Shoko, but definitely not you.
(Later, you'd find out that he had a girlfriend during this time, and that she was at the car meet during the crash- she had been chatting up other boys. Also, you'll learn that she broke up minutes before your first hospital visit.- She didn't want to care for him. )
Due to the extent of his injuries, he needs a lot of extra care. One of his legs broken, one of his arms healing from fire wounds because of when his engine caught fire while he was stuck.
And you're the only one there to do that.
Out of your own free will.
Satoru is busy.
He leads the same life as Suguru after all, so Suguru understands.
They were both sons of business men. Future ceo's of big companies.
Suguru's parents were disappointed, and turned a blind eye to him and his needs.
Instead, they hired someone to attend to him.
Which turned out to have been unnecessary.
You turn out to have a big heart.
Coincidentally, this happens during one of the school breaks (you're in college) and you care for him every moment while you're not at your side job or don't have anything important to attend.
You care for him at a level where you would sometimes stay in the guest room of the house. You care enough for his parents to notice you.
He starts to see you in a different light.
You're beautiful.
He never realized he'd find someone attractive by especially their personality.
But he also realizes you're too good for him.
He's done nothing but ignore you after all.
At most, he'd send you a cocky glance, yet here you are, tending to his every meet.
(Eventually, he'd ask Sukuna if you'd do that for just everyone. And your best friend would shrug. He didn't expect you to care either
In reality, you would. Because you count him as a friend. Even when you didn't expect Suguru originally to care for you the same way if the same thing happened- you're selfless like that.)
You two get to know each other better. He gets to know about your likes and dislikes, your favorite things to do and hobbies, and in return, you're surprised to find out he likes the traditional Japanese style he grew up in, though he also likes hip hop music.
It nearly makes him sad that you'll spend less time once he's healed and college classes have started again.
He's in college too, but in a different, high class school.
He finds himself reaching out to you more often.
You hang out more often too.
At the same time, Satoru and his crush advance too, and eventually after one of the car meets (one Sukuna isn't attending, you usually tag along with him, but you actually came with Suguru,) Suguru, Satoru, his crush and you tag along to a restaurant.
You decide to go in one car to cut parking costs.
An interesting detail is that Suguru never lets anyone besides Satoru sit beside him up front if multiple people are in his car.
It's always been like that.
He also drives one of those three door cars, where you gotta push the seat up in order to climb into the back.
But to your utter surprise, he stops you as you're about to climb in behind the passenger seat, telling Satoru, his best friend to sit in the back instead.
It makes your eyes widen, though Satoru doesn't mind, all too happy to get up close with his crush.
(Also, he knows Suguru likes you. He most definitely doesn't mind.)
You're the first girl to sit up front besides Suguru. None of his ex girlfriends ever sat beside him in the front seat. It had always been Satoru.
And now it's you.
Later on, he doesn't let you pay either.
Things between the two of you are going smoothly, and Suguru nearly has the guts to try and ask you out, when you suddenly have a boyfriend.
The two of you talk less. And it sucks. Suguru hates it.
Sukuna tells him that the dude you're dating is a douche too.
The Douche hates the platonic bond you share with Sukuna (it's a sibling like relationship.) And also dislikes Suguru.
Imagine Suguru's absolute pleasure when he meets the guy. (Along with Sukuna, Shoko and Satoru.)
He's using his own charismatic personality to his advantage, and the Douche is indeed a douche.
You agree to meet up in your favorite Japanese curry restaurant in the city. ( The one Suguru loves too.)
Sukuna is quick to pull you to his side, sliding you into the booth and sitting down beside you before Douche has a chance to sit down next to you.
Suguru is quick to join you at your other side, which leaves Satoru and Shoko to sit opposite along with Douche.
Douche adds fuel onto the fire by adding the spiciest dish the restaurant has, even challenging the cooks to make it spicier.
(Later on, you tell Suguru that Douche has a weak stomach, which Douche was well aware of, but ignored.)
Not only does Douche nearly cry because of the spiciness, but he also makes the dinner awkward by suffering cuz of the heat.
In fact, the mood is ruined to such a level, that everyone passes up dessert.
(The restaurant has the best mochi in town in multiple flavours- Suguru knows you love them.)
And the bill is split.
(Suguru is disgusted when your boyfriend doesn't pay for you, and pays for your part.
You're wife material, and deserve the very best and to be pampered.- In his most humble opinion.)
Later on, (barely five minutes later), Douche realizes he has to throw up, unable to handle the spicy food.
You're borderline embarrassed as Douche throws up in a garbage bin (thankfully out of sight) once you're on your way to the car garage.
Suguru feels borderline disgusted with Douche as he casually comes back after throwing up.
Douche reaches out to you, but it seems Sukuna and Suguru have the same thing in mind.
Suguru is quick to gently take you by the hand and pull you in his embrace, while Sukuna roughly grabs Douche by the hair and all but punches him in the face.
No one feels sorry except for you when they leave him in the city by himself.
Once again, you're seated up front in the passenger seat like the passenger princess you are while Satoru, Shoko and Sukuna are squeezed in the back.
It's quiet for a while, until Sukuna eventually tells you to just break up with him.
It kinda goes back and forth between Suguru, Sukuna, Shoko and you for a while. Because you don't want to, for whatever reason.
Suguru doesn't understand why you're willing to hang out with that douche and put yourself through his bullshit until everyone is out of the car and he finally asks you.
But then you get a little shifty and uncomfortable, admitting that Douche is your very first boyfriend.
For a moment Suguru is speechless, because you're a beautiful person inside and out, he never expected that at all.
'Because who would date me?' -Is your answer, one you give with a smile when he asks why.
Suguru's eyes widen.
Have you always had this low of a self vision of yourself?
He feels stupid for being blind of it. There have been instances where he's noticed your insecurities, but he never thought they all connected to that.
He's stupid too, because even though he knows and thinks it, he doesn't outright tell you to leave Douche and date him instead.
He knows that he would treat you so much better after all.
However, you do break up with Douche that very night.
Douche didn't like how he was punched by Sukuna, nor how Suguru so casually pulled you into his side.
In the end, he blames you for everything even when you've done nothing wrong, and forces you to choose between him and your friends.
Obviously, you choose your friends.
Suguru and you grow closer after that.
Very much closer.
You become a bit more extrovert.
You had always been introvert, sticking to Sukuna while not necessarily afraid to meddle.
Eventually you had also tagged along with Suguru everywhere, but it's different now.
Months pass with the two of you growing closer, and finally, one night, at Satoru's place, yet another party, (for what you don't know.), he finally speaks the words that have been on his mind all along.
You're both drunk, but not drunk enough to forget.
You're pressed closely next to each other on the couch, side to side.
Suguru's arm is wrapped around you, holding a beer.
An excuse to pull you closer whenever he takes a sip.
(The reason he's drunk in the first place.)
Finally, he confesses that he can treat you so much better than Douche did.
For a moment, you're confused. (Who's Douche again?)
But then you realize what he's trying to say and you fall quiet, surprised.
And Suguru full out confesses. He's loved you for two years. He hated to see how Douche treated you, when he knows you deserve better. Maybe you even deserve better than him, but he's selfish. He wants to keep you for himself.
Forever, if you'll have him.
By the end of the confession, you're speechless, surprised.
And then you leave without answering him.
Suguru feels regret and heartbroken when he wakes up the next morning in Satoru's guest bedroom. (You had gone home the previous night.)
Meanwhile you're pondering. You're confused over your own feelings. Because do you like Suguru? You've never explicitly thought about it.
Yes, you love spending time with him. Yes, you don't mind being alone with him whenever you go to places. Yes, you like when he laughs, especially when you're the one making him laugh. No, you don't like when other girls get too close to him or make him laugh the same way you do. You love when he pulls you close into his side, or when he rests his hand on your knee or thigh when you're in his passenger seat. - Oh shit, you're in deep.
You shouldn't be surprised. While you had been in that toxic relation with Douche, even Douche could see it. He had mentioned before that he didn't like Suguru because of how close you are, and the way you looked together.
Barely a day later, you text Suguru that you want to meet up, to talk about things.
Suguru's surprised by your text. He really thought he blew it with you.
Now, he feels a tiny bit of hope as you two talk, and he feels like the luckiest man in the world when you tell him you want to give the two of you a try.
You're not sure about loving him just yet, but yes, you do like him. Do find him attractive.
Suguru is okay with that. He's ready to love you, and he'll wait for whenever you're ready to love him too. In the meantime, you'll be fine, safe and happy with him.
He's sure of it.
Although his confession is messy, eventually he'll find out that confessing to you was one of the best things he's ever done, no matter how messy it was.
You're engaged after all. Even though you're much too young to get married anytime soon, and even though you are arranged by your clans after all.
Still, he can't help but feel nervous around you. His cheeks tinting pink whenever you talk about something passionately, your smile brightening up his days. He's too young to understand actually loving someone yet, but he's well aware that he very much likes you.
However, he has no idea how to tell you, or let you know.
Thinking about telling you has his hands getting sweaty and cause a fierce blush to spread across his face.
Besides, he can't talk to you. Not like a normal person at least. No matter how much he wants to. Apart from saying your name, he still has to stick to onigiri ingredients.
Communication between the two of you has been getting better, but you're learning to understand without him translating on his phone.
He doesn't mind translating. He often types out entire texts of speech for you when you're having a conversation about something interesting. But it does make communicating his feelings harder.
He wants the words to come from him directly, not by him showing you his phone screen and blinking at you nervously. He has to figure something out.
Body language will have to do, he supposes. He can't tell you, but perhaps he can show you.
Or maybe, he just needs to ask a certain someone for advice. Someone who has probably asked out a lot of girls before.
-
Gojo Satoru blinks at his future student in surprise.
" What?"
He's heard of Toge's engagement to you. How could he not? He's one of the big three clans after all.
However, of all things, he doesn't understand the hassle. You're already engaged. Why not just immediately get married? Besides, of all things he's expected Toge to ask, this had been the very last one.
" Just ask her- "
Toge has to blink in annoyance for Satoru to understand.
" Oh. Right. Okay, new plan!"
-
A few days later, that plan is finally put into action.
You're not in the same schools, so you're meeting up after school. He's already waiting for you at the park, in the city near your school. In his hands, he holds a chinese lantern plant. Originally, Gojo's plan included flowers, but he didn't necessarily like flowers. They weren't permanent. These were. They'd blossom along with your love. Hopefully for a very long time- Unless you'd reject him.
He swallows, hoping the best.
" Toge!"
Turning his head from where he had been staring at the plant, he turns to face you, a smile immediately taking over his features. He shifts the plant to one of his arms, using the other to take your palm in his in greeting, his thumb soothing over your skin.
You smile at him, the tips of your ears turning pink like they always do when he has his full attention on you.
" Hi. Oh, that's a pretty plant, what's it for?"
" Salmon cod roe."
' Wait.'
You blink, watching as he fumbles through his pockets. Eventually, he pulls out an envelope. You're not stupid, nor oblivious. You've caught onto his interest in you since the start. Besides, admittedly, you've grown to like him too.
Nearly a year has passed since you first met him, and you're pleased to say that he's the sweetest person you've ever met. He's considerate, attentive, and kind. (Not to mention extra sweet when you're on your period.) Truthfully, you like spending time with him, and you want to be closer to him too.
He hands you the envelope, his eyes wide as he signals for you to open it.
You do so.
' Dear Y/N,
I know our engagement is arranged and that you were originally not looking forward to spending the rest of your time with someone you couldn't choose yourself. I also know that we originally agreed to see how things go, and to be honest, I like how things are going. I like spending time with you. I like how you're learning my own language, and that it's not holding you back from spending time with me, and I really like who you are as a person. I'd like to spend more time with you. You're always running through my mind, and I want to be with you all the time. You're sweet, but also playful and patient. I'm sorry I can't tell you because of Cursed Speech, but I really like you and want to be with you, because we want to, and not because we're arranged.
Ps. Please don't feel forced to return my feelings because of our engagement
Pps. The plant is for you. I've been told that pretty girls like pretty flowers, and this one made me think of you : ) '
By the end of his heartfelt letter, Toge is much more nervous than before, and you're grinning widely.
" I'd love to be with you!" You beam, jumping at him and pulling him into a hug.
He lets out a breath of relief, pulling you in close and returning your affection gladly.
Finally, he gets to call you his girl.
Extra:
" Okay, easy, this is what you gotta do!"
Toge is listening attentively to his future teacher.
" First! Get an airplane. I don't remember where you can get one, but there's one that like flies those banners- Which brings me to two! Which is actually one, but whatever. Get a banner. Or make one. One of those cheese ones that simply says 'go out with me' should do the trick. Three! Which actually could be zero, but- rose petals. Everywhere. Girls love that. You can choose any location, but a beach should be great, even though that's really far away. Might want to drive there. Last, maybe hire a mariachi band. Or like a violin player-"
Toge blinks at Gojo as he continues talking. Toge is only 14. How would he even be able to afford any of that?
" Bonito flakes."
Gojo glances at him, finally shutting up. He rolls his eyes, before shrugging his shoulders.
" Ah right, you're only fourteen. Then maybe go for the easy route. Flowers and ask her out. Maybe you can hold the banner up yourself?"
Or, maybe a love letter? Girls like that, right?
Liked this? There's more of this au in my Masterlist : )
In which the first years find out you're engaged, and to whom.
An arranged marriage.
You're stunned. But annoyed all the same.
You're surprised too, even though you know that it's odd and useless to feel that way.
As a member of the L/N clan, you of course would've been forced to be married off sooner or later.
Thankfully, the actual marriage won't happen until years later, when you're grown up, an actual adult.
You're only 13 now.
You can't help the scowl on your face as you enter the room your supposed future 'fiance' is in.
Your eyes are quick to connect with a beautiful pair of purple eyes.
You have to admit, he's cute. If you would have seen him across your school, you might've been interested in him.
You'd never dare to make a move on him though, not if you had been in the same school or would have seen him elsewhere. And especially not with these circumstances
Currently, the grudge you hold against him due to this arranged marriage is clouding your judgment. You dislike him even when he hasn't spoken a word to you just yet.
Your eyes stray to the symbols on the side of his mouth. Ah right, his family's technique was cursed speech. Powerful, admittedly. You have a vague idea of how it works, but you can't help but wonder if it affects casual speech too.
" L/N Y/N."
Your introduction is basic.
The boy across from you blushes.
He looks sweet. You shake the thought off.
" Inumaki Toge."
You nod. An awkward silence overtakes the two of you for a few moments.
You don't know what to say.
Your mother had all but shoved you in this room, without further directions or whatsoever.
You awkwardly sit down on the couch in the sitting room, your hands tapping your thighs nervously for a moment.
" Kelp."
You blink as he sits down on a chair across from you, a small coffee table between the two of you.
" What?"
What was that supposed to mean?
He frowns, searching his pockets before pulling out his phone and typing away.
Great. So he's ignoring you now.
" So, uhm, what's your opinion on our situation-"
You pause as he turns the phone to you.
' Sorry, due to my cursed speech technique I can only talk in Onigiri ingredients to avoid accidentally cursing those around me.'
" Oh."
You exclaim softly, understanding him better now.
He turns the phone back to himself, typing away again.
" I don't know how to feel about our situation yet. I always knew I have a chance of ending up in an arranged marriage due to my hereditary technique. I understand if you feel different though. I hoped we could see how things go. We can always fight it if either of us dislike it. I won't force you into marriage with me.'
Your eyes widen at his consideration. This was not what you had expected at all.
The only other person you've met who has a hereditary technique is Naoya Zen'In, and you hate that guy with a passion.
You blush softly at Toge's words, smiling as you nod in agreement.
" I have to admit that I thought more negatively about the situation. But you seem nice. Maybe we should see how things go."
Toge blushes slightly as well, smiling softly as he nods.
It was an uncomfortable, odd situation for the both of you. You're only thirteen, and yet both of your parents have already decided that your lives are to be spent with one another.
He takes his phone back, and for a moment, the two of you are silent again.
" Uhm... What's your favorite onigiri ingredient?"
He smiles at you.
" Tuna Mayo."
Before you even realize it, the two of you are talking, (well, mostly you. He's mostly typing, or answering in Onigiri ingredients when it's a yes or no question), getting to know one another.
At the end of the day, you are nowhere near certain about eventually being married to him, yet you have to admit that you enjoyed spending time with him.
And that you looked forward to the next time you're seeing each other again.
[ A/N: Decided to do a small drabble collection of their marriage in little scenarios. Just for the heck of it. Requests about this specific trope are welcome (no guarantee that I'll accept though) ]
Nanami Kento isn't sure how he ended up here, in this happy little kitchen.
A small content smile is settled on his face as he watches you, the love of his life, move about your shared kitchen, in your shared house.
Beside him, Gojo, who had invited himself and his first year students over at his place, was talking to him. The man was as animated as ever, and although Kento is listening, his full focus isn't in the action. Part of it is on you, like it always is.
Naturally, you and Yuuji have hit it off easily. The kid was naturally extroverted after all, and you warmed up quickly to him. You seem to get along with Nobara as well. Currently, the two of them are bantering about something, while you watch, amused. You and Megumi already know one another. You've met the very first time Megumi had been dragged to Jujutsu Tech by Gojo, and you've always been sweet to him.
Usually, Kento would join you in the kitchen. Neither of you could get along with anyone else in the confines of the kitchen space, but the two of you never had any issue, often wordlessly throwing something together to eat.
What he does know for certain, is that all of this is thanks you to you.
February, 2008
" You- what?"
Nanami Kento is staring down at you with wide eyes. You're a year below him, and your question has completely caught him off guard.
" I'm- I'm asking you on a date!"
Those were not the words you previously used Originally, you had asked for his number. You don't seem to back down, your pretty eyes blinking up at him as you eagerly wait for his answer.
Meanwhile Kento still can't comprehend it. You like him? Of all students around? Him?
Kento blinks, his mouth slightly open as he takes your words in. He's seen you around before. You were a fierce little thing. You were amazing in hand to hand combat (apparently due to your unique upbringing) and your cursed energy seemed to materialize in very real flames. You were pretty too, he finally noted. He likes your eyes, and the shape of your face, lips. The piercings in your ears were cool too.
He hadn't expected this, and it seems like he forgot to answer as you lean away from where you had been boldly leaning into his personal space, cocking your head with a pout on your lips.
" It's fine if you don't like me, you know? You don't need to feel forced to go on a date with me. It's alright if you don't want to. I can handle rejection."
" No- I- I just.. didn't expect it.- But yes, I'll go on a date with you."
He smiles slightly at you, a blush on his face. Truly, he has no idea what you're seeing in him. In his own eyes, he's much too skinny to be considered attractive enough to be boldly asked out like this. Especially by someone as pretty as you. However, he doesn't complain, blushing as he types his number in your phone.
-
The date doesn't happen. At least, not for a long time. It was supposed to happen, but then him and Haibara are sent on a mission, a few cities away.
Currently, he's sat in his room. It's been a few days since he's back, but he can't sleep. He doesn't want to close his eyes, afraid of reliving the moment over and over again.
Sighing, he gets out of bed. He doesn't feel bothered enough to change out of his pajamas. Instead, he puts on some slippers, and heads out of the dorms in favor of some fresh air.
It's late on a weekday, so he doesn't expect anyone to be awake right now.
He sighs, closing his eyes as he loses himself in the darkness of his thoughts and memories. He's seated on the steps of the dorms outside. The lower half of his face pressed into his palm, the expression on his face bothered.
" Can't sleep?"
Kento breath stutters, his hands reaching for the blade he doesn't carry with him currently.
Your eyes widen, bringing your hands up as you shake them, along with your head.
" Woah, sorry!- I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sneak up on you. I just forget that my footsteps are silent sometimes."
He releases a breath, running a hand through his hair as he looks back at the night sky.
" It's alright."
He expects you to take it as a sign to silently shuffle away. You surprise him however, sitting down beside him. Your body is close, yet not too close. A reminder that you're there. You're silent, a stark contrast to how loud he's seen you be with your classmates. The silence between the two of you is a little awkward, though for a moment, he leaves it be. You don't seem to be too bothered by it after all.
" I'm sorry I didn't reply to your messages. "
You turn to him, blinking in surprise. Now that he's seeing you again, he does feel a bit guilty about it. The two of you had been messaging for a few hours every day since you've asked him out. However, de did ignore you after things went downhill during his mission. He didn't have the energy to talk to anyone.
Slowly, your hand comes closer, and then your warm hand is on top of his cool shoulder.
" Don't worry about it. You've had more troublesome things going on after all."
Your touch is comforting. He hadn't expected it to be. You're surprisingly gentle.
He studies you for a moment. There's a kind, easy smile on your face that lets him know everything is alright.
" I'm also sorry about our date."
You shake your hand, bringing your hand in your lap again as you face the night sky.
" It's okay. We can always do that another time. I can be patient, so don't worry about it."
He glances at you, taking you in. You're caring. It's sweet.
He turns his head, also gazing at the night sky once more.
" How come your footsteps are so quiet? I've never had anyone sneak up on me before. "
You laugh softly at that, a cheeky smile on your face.
" I grew up in a temple, with other orphans. We're raised by monks. In between certain times, we wouldn't be allowed in the kitchen to eat snacks during the day. My siblings and I sneaked in anyway. I think the footsteps lasted because,, well.. a lot of practice."
You grin at the fond memory.
" I see. I didn't know you were an orphan. I'm sorry, that must be pers-"
" It's alright. I never minded it. I've been raised with a lot of love and care, so I don't really care. I think I was brought there because my mother was too young to have me. I don't really remember the details."
Your story surprises him. He had not expected that. At all. However, it does explain how you manage to get along with a lot of different people.
For a good few moments, silence overtakes the both of you again. Kento finds himself enjoying the time he's spending with you. There's no need to talk. No need to say anything in order to enjoy each other's company.
After a moment, you yawn.
" Why are you awake at this hour?"
" I got carried away while watching my series- Wanna watch a movie?"
You've turned to him, smiling widely.
" What? Where?"
" Don't get me wrong. It's not a date. This isn't the proper moment for that- but, at my dorm. My dorm room's closest to the door, so we can easily sneak you in and out."
You're grinning.
" I don't believe that's proper, Y/N."
" Awe, don't overthink it. I've done it with my siblings a lot of times too. Even when I've only known them for a few months.-"
" But I'm not one of your sibling Y/N, for all we know I might be your future husband."
That silenced you, your cheeks tinting pink. Kento has to catch himself too, clearing his throat. He opens his mouth to say something, probably to take his words back, but you're quick to speak, not allowing him to change his previous words.
" But then, does it really matter?"
Your blush intensifies, as does his own.
He doesn't know how, but nearly ten minutes later, the two of you are squeezed on your bed, your laptop open in front of you. Originally, Kento tries to keep a formal distance, but you're too close. Your touch is too comforting, and neither of you can help yourselves as you cuddle up together.
Eventually, he finally falls asleep. His sleep dreamless, finally at peace in the comfort of your arms.
The next morning, he finds himself entangled in your arms, and although he's blushing, he can't find it in himself to mind. You're still sleeping. He glances at the clock, he notices that it's now 5 am. The perfect time to sneak back towards his own dorm. However, in the warmth of your embrace, bundled up together under the covers, he can't find the will in himself to move. Smiling softly, he presses a shy kiss to the top of your head, before returning to his comfortable position.
He'll make sure to take you on that date once he's feeling better.
Present day
He's glad to say that he's taken you out on that date, and many others. He's happy he eventually got down on one knee and asked you to marry him before either of you were even financially ready.
Kento had been certain that he'd marry you. He was proud to have called you his fiance for a long time, but much happier when he got to officially address you as his wife.
Kento loves you for every time you've stood by him, for every night you held him during those tough times, for not giving up on him when stupid arguments happened between the two of you.
Meanwhile, Gojo had stopped talking. At this point, he's just dumbly smiling at Kento, who's wrapped up in his own thoughts.
Nobara and Yuuji had stopped bantering as well. Only you and Megumi seemed to still be busy with making dinner. ( All three wanted to help, but it was really Megumi who was doing most of the work with you.)
Gojo grins, catching Yuuji's eye and signaling Kento's love eyes for his wife. Yuuji nods.
Meanwhile, Kento seems to have snapped out of it, raising a brow as he turns to face his colleague.

You grimace as you open your eyes, slowly focusing on your surroundings. Your back is still throbbing. Your head actually feels quite peaceful. The light of the room is dim, and as your eyes focus, you notice the numerous seals lining the walls, stickered over one another. You're surrounded by candle lights.
You've heard of this room before. You never expected to be the one in it though.
" Ah, finally woke up from your beauty sleep? "
As you turn, you come face to face with your sensei, leaving you confused once again. He's seated on a chair, the back of the stool facing you as he's seated backwards. There's a casual grin on his face. He looks stupid. Like always.
" Gojo sensei? "
The last thing you remember is Inumaki not recognizing you, in fact, he even used his cursed speech on you, forcing you to sleep. Admittedly, it was one of the nicest naps you've ever had, but still.
" Ah, Inumaki told me you were confused- he also mentioned you're Sukuna's best friend. It got us quite worried, considering you seem to know quite a bit about Inumaki. You even mentioned that he's your upperclassman. "
You nod. You've got no idea on what to say. Yes, Ryomen is trouble. A little shit. Yet they were treating you like your best friend is some kind of horrible curse or something, worst of the worst.
" What do you know about me? "
You blink. Is this a test? It had to be.
" You're Gojo Satoru. You have both Six Eyes' and Limitless cursed technique. You're the first year's mentor- I'm one of your first years, actually. Uhm.... You lost someone you were close with once last year. We're close. In a respectful way. I see you like an elder cousin. "
Gojo's eyes widen below his blindfold, completely taken by surprise. You knew of Geto?
" How did he die? "
You tense. You hate that memory. Not to mention with how he's looking at you. He's mentioned that they used to be close. You found him at a bad moment, and helped him through it.
" I killed him.. "
" What? "
Now it's Gojo's turn to be surprised.
" I stopped the blood stream to his heart. I found you, just before you were about to end him. I could see it when I had arrived. You don't look at enemies the same way you looked at that man. You care for him. Jujutsu society was already asking a lot of you. I didn't want you to live with the guilt of having to kill someone you cared for. "
Gojo is eerily silent for a good moment. His six eyes aren't having issues. Your flow of cursed energy really is different. You're not from here.
" You have a student ID right? What's your name? "
" Kamo Y/N."
You hand your student ID to him.
" Already a second grade student as a first year? Impressive. I take it you're from the Kamo clan? Or are you a foreigner with a similar last name as one of the three clans- You don't look like you're from around here. "
" No, I'm from the Kamo clan. My mother fell in love with a foreigner. "
" Blood Manipulation? "
" Water manipulation, actually. "
His eyebrows visibly raise beneath his brow.
" I've never heard that before. What's that? I take it you can manipulate water, like the name intends? "
" Yes, I can. I can manipulate any body of water, and create or change the condensation of it. "
" Including the blood in people their bodies. "
You cringe at his words.
" Yes. "
It's not the favorite part of your technique, but it's definitely a part of it.
Gojo sighs, sitting up straight as he contemplates on what to do.
" Who's your mother? "
" Kamo Asuka. "
His eyebrows furrow. He's heard that name before, but he can't remember when. Your student ID is legit too. He sighs, getting up.
" Okay. Something is definitely going on here. I've got no idea what, but don't worry, your sensei will look into it. "
Hos previous serious expression is replaced by his easy going one again. He's grinning as he gets up from the chair, and unties you from yours.
" Welcome back at school I guess. I'll be putting you in the girls dormitory for now. We'll introduce you to the rest of the class tomorrow. "
Soon enough, the both of you are finally leaving the room, and you're headed back to familiar grounds.
To your surprise, he leads you to the exact dorm room you used to stay, but your eyes widen in negative surprise as you notice that it's empty. All of your belongings not there. Your polaroids aren't hanging messily over your wall, your clothes aren't messily stacked in an overfull laundry basket in the corner of the room, your books aren't under your bed, and your comfortable bedsheets which you sneaked in from home aren't on your bed.
" You okay? "
He notices your expression.
" Yeah, just... This is supposed to be my room. All my stuff is gone.... "
-
The night passes by, but you can't find it in yourself to fall asleep. You're just tossing and turning, and eventually, you finally get up, and make your way outside, towards the river.
You're going to fix your back. You breathe in the cool night's air. You'd often sneak out at times like this, along with your best friend. You'd catch the bus that goes until 3 am to Shibuya, and pop by some 24/7 convenience store from time to time.
You take out your phone, testing your luck.
Kuna
I'm hungry
Tf you want me to do
Lets sneak off to the kitchens, I wanna bake cupcakes
No
Wait no I'm coming
I wanna spoon out the left over batter
U gotta share tho
No
You sigh as you look at the old texts. They're not that old, only from yesterday. By accident, you had woken up Nobara as well and together the three of you ended up baking cupcakes.
It had been fun.
You type a message.
Hey, where are you?
[ The number you're trying to reach is not in use. ]
Something really wasn't right, you really were somewhere you weren't supposed to be.
You decide to just focus on the task ahead. Throwing the, currently useless, device in the grass beside you, you step into the shallow part of the river.
Unlike most cursed techniques, you found yours pleasant to use. You didn't need to intent harm on anyone to use it. You also managed to master your reverse cursed technique. With enough water, you can heal injuries.
You manipulate a bit of the river's water into the palm of your hands, allowing the water to encase your hand. The water is still cold, but that only makes you sigh in relief as you press your water encased hand to your back, the water lighting up as your abilities get to work. This was so much more pleasant.
-
" Okay students, meet your new, very awesome classmate, Kamo Y/N! "
Gojo is way to cheerful as he introduces you.
Nonetheless, you smile politely as you slide open the door, and step inside the classroom.
" Hi. Nice to meet you all, I hope we get along well. "
You bow, finishing your introduction formally.
This is not how it went when you introduced yourself back in your universe, but that was more than okay.
A spark comes to life in Nobara's eye.
" Another girl! This is great! Finally I'm not just stuck with these two! " Nobara cheers.
Both men beside her grumble.
Yuuji pouts.
" Why, what's wrong with us? I thought you liked us. "
Megumi's mildly annoyed expression shifts soon enough, his focus now on you.
" Kamo? "
He's always been sharp. He probably wonders why you're here when your cousin (Noritoshi) is in the Kyoto school.
" Y/N isn't like our regular students, Megumi. She randomly popped up yesterday out of nowhere. She already knows you, but no one of us knows anything about her, thus far. " Gojo explains.
Megumi's eyebrows furrow, as Yuuji gasps.
" Out of nowhere? What if you're from a different universe? "
You raise a brow. You hadn't thought about that. Had the cursed spirit you've been fighting really been strong enough to send you here?
" Don't spout nonsense Yuuji-"
" I think it's actually a good theory. "
All four students turn surprised to their sensei.
" Your flow of cursed energy is different. It's somewhat more peaceful, but it also feels like it doesn't belong here.- I forgot to ask you a bunch of questions yesterday actually, how did you end up here? "
He's leaning back against the desk, fingers on his chin as his expression is relatively serious.
" I was fighting a cursed spirit. It was special grade. It popped up out of nowhere. It wasn't alone either. One went after me while the other went after Sukuna. The one that went after me was strong, and made me fall through some kind of hoop. I was supposed to fall in the river, but I ended up falling right at the entrance of the school, which is where Inumaki senpai found me. "
Yuuji blinks, though his eyebrows furrow in confusion.
" Sukuna? "
Yuuji can only hope you aren't referring to the very curse he hates.
" Yeah, Itadori Sukuna. That actually reminds me, is he sleeping in late again, that he's not here? "
All eyes blink at you in confusion.
" Yeah, I actually forgot to ask about that yesterday as well. Is your Sukuna a student? "
Gojo seems confusingly serious about it.
" Ah, yeah. He is. He's Yuuji's twin, actually. "
Everyone's eyes are wide open, and Yuuji's mouth actually falls open.
" My- my twin?! " He calls out, visible distressed.
You blink, wondering what you've said wrong.
" Yeah? -"
" Ryomen Sukuna is the king of curses here. He's a very powerful sorcerer from the Heian era, back when the curses ruled. It took a lot to defeat him. And the sorcerers from back then couldn't even kill him. They cut up his 20 fingers and sealed them. "
You blink in surprise at Gojo's explanation. Before furrowing your eyebrows in disgust and realization.
" 20? "
Gojo nods.
" Our Sukuna had 4 arms. "
" Ew. "
" I can swallow his fingers. "
Now you blink at Yuuji. He blinks back at you with a bit of a dumb grin, Nobara cringes in disgust.
" Ew. "
" Right! You get it, it's so unsanitary! "
She's definitely glad to have you.
" But then, Sukuna's presence lives in you? "
Yuuji nods.
" Yeah. Don't worry though, I've got full control over him. "
This is all just very confusing for you.
" Right. "
" Sukuna Ryomen as a student. I never imagined that- I take it his cursed technique is slicing in your.. Universe.. As well? "
Gojo seems positively interested. The possibilities of Sukuna being a student is amazing to him.
You shake your head.
" He doesn't have any cursed energy, actually. "
" What? "
" Yeah, he's free of it. "
Gojo's eyes widen. He only knows one person who was free from it.
" Like-"
" Yes, like him. "
You flit your eyes over Megumi, who just seems confused.
Gojo is only more surprised at this point.
" Okay... Well, enough of this. Let's turn back to class for now. We'll figure out how to get you back to your universe. For now, let's just focus on classes. This way, perhaps you won't fall behind. "
