So lets back track to 4 years ago. When I met J-ess. She is the beginnings to this catastrophic, dumpster fire roller coaster I am currently on. We met while she was at work and I was just conveniently there. Turns out, we had a shared love for a certain music genre. And since I was wearing a shirt that showed that, she yelled from where she was down to where I was. And thus began the conversation.
Initially - we did NOT become friends. I had a different friend group at that time, and she was always with her ex boyfriend - but there was a night where we both happened to be watching the same streamed concert, drinking the same wine, both drunk out of our minds, and THAT was the moment our (now broken) friendship began. I thought she was a pretty chill chick, and her ex was a pretty chill guy too, so why not? I introduced them to my then friends group - let me stop here for a moment and explain that THAT friends group still exists, we just aren't as close as we once were, because life happens. But we all still talk and occasionally see one another. - everyone seemed to get along (or so I thought).
We had a few getogethers, a few small parties, but slowly and surely, the original set started to drift. I chalked it up to life. One was dealing with home life issues, one was dealing with job life issues, and one had met the love of her life and was starting a whole new chapter. But coke to find out WELL later on, that it was because of J-ess and the things they would witness. But I am not that smart at times and choose to believe there is good in everyone, so I kept her around. Kept telling myself she was actually a good person deep down. (Now is when I wish I had listened to everyone back then.) Enter my (former neighbors), who knew J-ess. Knew her from years prior. And oh man, did they look terrified when I told them I was hanging out with her. Instantly, their bodies stiffened, their faces went pale and I get a very stern "Be careful. She is a pathological liar." .... Interesting. But I stated people can change. They can grow. And they did agree with that. This was all in 2019.
Lets skip to 2020. Pandemic time. Since J-ess had been in my place a large portion of the time prior, she still would stop up occasionally when she could. We would hang out, watch MVs, and just bullshit. This is when I introduced her to a certain KPop group that I had found in 2019. She, in the beginning, would not give them a chance. Would not listen to them. Wouldn't even glance at their pictures. But I was truly tired of listening to just one group, and knew it wouldn't hurt her to broaden her horizons. It took me a WHILE, but after seeing the one member in their (at the time) newest MV, she was hooked. And that began the journey of getting to learn this group. And how I now wish I had not let it go as far as it did...
