Bogard and Garp 2
Rewatching the OPLA seasons and noticing that Bogard is 100% the disciplinarian. I wouldn't call him a mother hen in a hundred years. He's the border collie that herds the rest of the farm yard animals and I'm all for it.
Maybe border collie-wolf mix? Dude is powerful, tall, and honestly all the aura of a wolf who has thrived well into adulthood despite harsh winters and fierce competition. However, he has herding instincts and will nip at the heels of any marine who isn't training per expectations. I LOVE episode S1 Episode 8 of the OPLA.
Garp turns his head towards Bogard when asking where Luffy is. This could signify several things. Bogard could have more advanced Observation Haki than Garp, a VAST web of informants, and/or Bogard and Garp have such a bond that they're able to work with a flawless cohesion partly because they're different in how they think therefore they see things the other might not.
Bogard makes Zoro put his sword back.
Bogard watches the Strawhats like they're sheep and he's the border collie. I think him watching the crew is two-fold: he's intimidating enough to keep the crew in line and he's acting as a deterrent towards any stray attacks from the other Marines.
Bogard is not at the front of the line as they leave. He's at the back of it. It's both a wise decision in terms of protecting the less experienced marines and it highlights how he's very much of a herder and NIKA HELP ANY MARINE IF THEY DO ANYTHING OUT OF LINE!
He's only mentioned once in S2 and it's amusing that Garp uses Bogard's creativity as a threat.
Bogard REVELS in discipline. He's the herder/protector/killer of all potential threats to the flock and Garp's the farmer.
