Having an interesting night tonight because the core/original poll from the other day has been on my mind since I wrote about our system's experiences in response to it.

More specifically it's been making me think about my exomemories and experiences as divinekin (or at least divinekin adjacent).

A lot of this is a bit rambly, so do pardon. It will be under a cut.

In my timeline, I was granted immortality by the God of Magic, who had essentially turned me into a proxy of his to work magic on the world. Most of us iteratives (the iz and if##s) have that experience, and our relationship to our patron always different.

In my case, I was asked to become a full part of it, and rejected it because I was more interested in raising my child. It didn't take my magic or immortality away, but IF2 remembers things differently, because he accepted the offer with the promise that my child would be alright. Neither of us is any more real than the other, but instead we are a splintered timeline living in one together.

How this affects me and why I even relate to the divinekin label is thus very difficult to parse, because what word could encapsulate the idea of the divine equivalent of getting 3 years into your degree and suddenly deciding you want to work somewhere else?

Not that there needs to be a word that encapsulates it, but finding a space where that kind of experience could perhaps breathe would be nice. The divinekin tags are oft very focused on the experience of angels/demons/gods, in what I have seen, and this makes sense obviously. But even then, the denial of the divine is such a topic of hostility.

Did no one reject divinity with a soft rebuttal? Did no one part kindly?

I cannot relate to the idea of fallen divinity, because I am not fallen in my rejection of my patron. We parted on good terms, and he still shares the bounty of his magic with me (albeit not as much as he wanted to). IF2 still came to visit me, after he had accepted what I rejected, and he is happy with what I did not want. I am happy with the life I chose, too.

Complicated feelings for a Sunday night, I suppose.

Ik ben bezig geweest met de look en feel van de animatie en het werken met After Effects camera’s en scherpte diepte. Ik heb problemen met het renderen (anti-aliasing) waardoor de render er niet heel mooi uit komt te zien in sommige gevallen, hier zal ik een oplossing voor moeten bedenken.
