Quick little character study on Lucifer here
Oh my god. Ok so first off, as an ex-Christian, this depiction of the devil is fascinating. Because on one hand, he's the guy who gave Eve the apple, who tempted both Lilith and Eve, who is the reason Hell exists, the first Sin, the embodiment of Pride, and we see that! His fight with Adam, his interactions with Alastor, and his part in VOX POPULI all make it crystal clear that Yes, this is THAT Lucifer and he is Pride given human(oid) form.
However. He’s also God's favorite son. He's silly and obsessed with ducks and doesn't quite get the social cues of sinners (imo very autistic). He’s depressed, his wife left him, he's an absentee father who doesn't know the right way to fix things but he tries. He wears oversized sweaters and cries over duck dramas and is so eager to get his daughter back in his life that he doesn’t argue when she snaps at him, nor does he push her to forgive him. Ofc he also doesn't question when "Charlie" sounds off and sends him a location instead of just, yknow, meeting him at the hotel but that just adds to my point!
He's Pride, he has self worth issues. He brags about pulling the first two women in existence, he doesn’t know how to be a good father. God's favorite, the most hated being in all of creation. If Lucifer is anything simple, it's a contradiction.
