I needed to doodle something today because I'm out of practice with my tablet and wanted to play around new brushes. Here's a speedy drawing of Iggy's crooked smile. He basically hinges it on one tusk and smirks with the other side of his mouth, which I think is adorable. Enjoy.
Iggy getting a bit of a nerve-wracking better look early on after meeting Ozzy. His eyes are very sensitive to light, and he has acute vision underwater due to the animalistic properties of his mutations, but he’s nearsighted, and often forgets that his size make closer looks a bit uncomfortable.
I always forget just how dramatic this size difference is until I use the actual proportions instead of fudging it for visual effect. Iggy massively outsizes Ozzy, but he learned very quickly to never make direct contact. Just to make himself available nearby for it to happen on Ozzy’s terms. He’ll act as a platform or furniture for his little friend but he’ll never outright grab them unless there’s an emergency or it can’t be helped. You’ll have to read stowaway when the new edited version releases to find out how that happens!
I may be holding a contest featuring these two in the near future! Stay tuned!
Have been feeling way down the past few days, but I want to fight through it. I also just want to try and be more social again.
Stowaway has been in progress, and if I can find an editor to work with chapters may start to go up officially. In preparation, here's a new ID for Iggy since the big guy has evolved a lot.
I can’t get enough of Iggy’s adorable sideways smile!
Iggy ends up trapped in his home more often than not as a consequence of his PTSD, and he gets very lonely. Where Ozzy has a veritable world to roam around within the cabin, it feels much more like a cell to Iggy.
Ozzy never becomes too fond of touch, but each week he stokes himself up to give Iggy some closer company, Wellwire ( @the-little-shoebox ) joins in as well, sometimes with other local borrowers along for a treat. Iggy makes sure his guests are well cared for with some hot cocoa and a cozy spot on his shoulder where his body heat can keep them comfortably warm. Iggy himself usually sits on or close to the floor so his little guests don’t have to feel quite as uneasy on his very tall form. These visits are very therapeutic for him, and have greatly improved his mental condition since he found he wasn’t all alone in his cabin after all.
A little closeup because I always detail my tiny characters, they’re just hard to see more often than not!
“Ah shoot! Sorry little feller, I didn’t actually mean to catch you up here. I’ve jus’ seen you up here plenty, thought it would be a good place to leave a little somethin’ for ya. Don’ be mindin’ me none, I’ll be on my way now.”

Iggy has a shelf built into the wall where he likes to keep knickknacks and memorabilia. The back of each shelf is lined with nautical wallpaper, which Ozzy has cleverly used to hide a door to his lab on the top shelf. Iggy isn’t aware of that much, but he’s seen Ozzy coming down from there on more than one occasion. Perspective was a bit of a bugger here, I hope the scaling doesn’t look too off. Iggy collected a lot of human-scaled trinkets when he was travelling the seas. He’d have found things more suited to his own size, but space was at a premium, and he could easily store the smaller items in his pockets to remember various destinations without cramping his bunk.
As for what’s happening, Iggy tries his best to be a gracious host to his tiny company, and it doesn’t take Ozzy long to figure out that conveniently placed necessities and leftover prepared food set out on the counter overnight is no accident. Ozzy starts to leave drawings whenever they borrow from Iggy, who thinks the artwork is about the greatest thing ever. Iggy starts a tradition of finding tools for Ozzy to use for art and record keeping. In this case, he’s found a set of colored pencils, and very carefully whittled them down into manageable chunks for his borrower housemate. He’s even folded a piece of colored cardstock around them to look like a gift box!
We decided that Wellwire and Iggy would have been longtime friends through radio chatter, though Iggy would have no idea his pal was only a few inches tall. Wellwire wanted to introduce him to Click as well, who is even shorter. So some good natured teasing ensues! No harm done, though Clickspring may be planning some ways to get back at the pair for calling her short.
I composed and lined the image, Drag added in the colors and shades, and decided to add that perfect little inset in the corner!

These two were originally going to be adopts, I got attached to every single one I made, but these two stole my heart and I couldn’t separate them or let them go, so now I’ve got two more on my own roster!
