This is a fake cover for @igotablankpage 's wonderful novel, Nephilim. I've had the pleasure of beta reading it a few times, and I can hardly wait till Sarah's a famous published author whose works are flying off the shelves. ❤️

Anyway, I randomly got this image in my head earlier and couldn't get it out, so 4 hours later, voila! I might not be able to draw well, but between PS and Picsart, my editing skills continue to level up.

Storyteller Saturday! What was the most difficult part of creating your characters?

Consistency :P I really don’t “see” my writing in my head, so I’m very bad with little details like hair and eye color. I’m also great at making things up on the spot, so answers to common questions like “favorite food” or “when do they wake up” are subject to change a lot if they’re not integral parts of the character

Hello! In your NaNoWriMo Final WordCount post your mentioned how you retconned a lot of stuff while writing. Is it strange to see how your characters/ world develop outside of your original creation of them?

hi! wow, it’s been ages since i’ve last looked at my inbox—thank you for dropping by & sorry for the super late answer!

i did retcon a lot of stuff, and going forward, i expect to be doing a lot more. it... wasn’t that strange? for this wip i never really started w a firm idea of what i wanted so i did expect to have to make a lot of changes. that being said, it was an interesting experience trying to keep my characters distinct and consistent as my idea of how they fit in with the world and what they needed to do/were going to do kept changing.

WIP Progress Sunday! Do you have a favourite/worst line to share this week?

I hope I’m not terribly late with this answer, I didn’t get a notification for it!

The only thing I’ve written this week is a sort of “script” for a presentation I’m giving on music and storytelling for a music composition class. So I’ll just give you my favorite line from that I guess?

You don’t necessarily need lyrics for music to be an effective tool. This is especially the case when a song is focused around an emotion or a feeling. Complex emotions can be difficult to describe in words, but easy to describe with music.

That being said, I haven’t done much writing, but I got a lot of new worldbuilding done for Destined for Grayness (I think I finally figured out angels and demons and how all that works!)

WIP Progress Sunday! Have you done anything creative for your WIP this week?

Not since Tuesday! Unless you count trying to outline a new WIP, changing the plot half-way through, rereading it and adding a few new details, then having to rewrite it because that damn plot changed again :P

I probably couldn’t write anything of any length from Phillip’s POV. I’ve never tried, but I’m not fantastic at writing characters over 25 and he’s a good century and a bit over that threshold lmao

24. Hot chocolate: Do you have (a) stuffed animal(s) sitting in your room? Which one(s)?

I have a stuffed dog named Vuk that holds a heart in its mouth in my room! Rest of my stuffed companions are packed away until I get my own apartment :)

Otherwise, I got real, living, breathing animals that are often in my room. I like to think it’s because they love me and not because the blankets are soft and warm.
