Lauren and Camila were/are friends. They also happen to be each other’s significant other.

I think it’s a pretty common fear in romantic relationships, that if you were to lose or break-up with your partner, you wouldn’t just lose your lover, but also your best friend.

I can imagine 18/19yr old Camila and Lauren freezing each other out for some period, obviously not completely, but just being “off”. And because of the codependency they would have developed having been around each other 24/7 for the last 3 years, you suddenly look out and woah… not only is it so different to just yesterday, but reflecting back even further:

The friendship they had from when they first met and started hanging out in Miami. The way they supported each other through The X Factor and the way that their two families came together. They probably studied together when they were finishing off their high school studies on the road. They listened to music together, would engage in deep conversations and make each other laugh. Camila was there when Lauren needed support and vice versa.

You look out one day and you’re not even speaking to that person the way that you were just a day ago. That’s pretty heartbreaking.
