had a dream a while back that there was a Splatoon spinoff where the characters were spiders based off of Kumoko and instead of shooting ink you’d shoot webs, they worked like the ink where you had to cover the ground more than the other team but you’d have to use the web function to swing from ceilings to get to far platforms

Decided to do some outfits for my boy Ikamo towards the end of 2025! Some ramblings under the cut.
It doesn't look like I did a lot of research to land where I did but I, did lol. My goal isn't necessarily to make him look like he's from a specific modern human culture but rather to solidify in my brain what Gyallian (the species Ikamo is: basically dragon shapeshifters) attire might look like.
I don't think the influences are that obvious, and I want to keep it that way, but I did look at a lot of Southeast Asian and Central African attire to get a rough picture of what cultures who live close to the equator are doing. I did also look at Cuban and other South American clothes, but they weren't hitting the right vibes for me. I think if I have the spoons to do more of these or sit down and do some outfit design for some other Gyallians the trends will become a bit more obvious.
The core tenants of what I'm going to do with Gyallian clothing are - triangles where possible, favor lightweight and simple design that makes sense for a tropical region, heavily patterned bright clothing for special occasions, use lines to break up clothing silhouettes to make things appear a bit more science fiction, everything must have SOME color and all black or white outfits are extremely uncommon.
I guess that being said, the Standard/Merkava/TGS and Formal (Non-Gyallian) are the only two Ikamo WOULDN'T be wearing on Gyallia at some point. And probably not the cold outfit, but I wanted to see what it might look like lol.
The Formal (Military) one the idea is that there are various articles of clothing worn over top standard armor (see: armor that has been set aside for formal occasions but is of the design you'd normally wear in the field) to indicate what branch, rank, and honors you may have. Ikamo's basically signifies that he is important but not necessarily in charge.
