Martha Wells Humble Bundle!

Tremaine Valiarde! For those who haven’t read Martha Wells’ Ile-Rien series, she’s a deeply suspicious, mentally ill writer and world-hopper who does not have the time or the fucks to fix her hair. I love her and the entire series dearly.
I've been really enjoying Martha Wells's Death of the Necromancer. I needed a good queer fantasy heist with juicy political intrigue and this not only hits the spot but actively makes the spot harder to hit for other books.
On a side note, the main character reminds me significantly of Percy de Rolo. Definitely less grimdark edgy and pretentious (affectionate), but just as revenge-obsessed, prone to thinking he's the smartest person in every room even when he's definitely not, and a bisexual wifeguy to boot. Very good at making himself seem respectable until you realize that he's actually fully unhinged. I want to pin him down and study him like a bug.
The Fall of Ile-Rien: Fancast
Having just finished the absolute joy that is Martha Wells’s The Fall of Ile-Rien trilogy for the first time, I’ve been moved to make a fancast for the TV adaptation that ought by rights to exist. I’m taking some liberties with the ages of characters because a good TV show would need flashbacks and also because I want to, so there. More minor characters from the later books not included. Extremely mild spoilers for the series as a whole. THUS:
Tremaine - Alicia Vikander
Simultaneously tired and full of rage
Fuelled by coffee and sarcasm
Has no patience for bullshit
Survivor
Having feelings is incovenient and also the worst, actually
Florian - Eleanor Tomlinson
Chronically underestimated despite being a sorcerer of Ile-Rien
Brave
Resourceful
Exasperated
Surrounded by infuriating people (Tremaine)
Gerard - Michael Sheen
Talented sorcerer of Ile-Rien
Would really just like to sit down somewhere quiet with a cup of tea
Does not get to do this
Is Tremaine’s guardian (a primary reason for the above)
Surrounded by youthful, energetic people he keeps having to save
Ander - Charlie Hesketh
Thinks he’s the romantic lead
Is not actually the romantic lead
Is actually an enormous pain in everyone’s ass
Does not realise he’s getting by on sufferance (Tremaine’s)
Occasionally useful despite himself
Ilias - Garrett Hedlund
Doesn’t think he’s the romantic lead
Is actually the romantic lead
Wizard-hunter
Has Seen Some Shit
Will die on a battlefield for Giliead and Tremaine
Giliead - Jon Kortajarena
The God of Cineth’s Chosen Vessel
Brooding but in a nice way
Has also Seen Some Shit
Wizard-hunter
Would die on a battlefield for Ilias
Ixion - Dane Dehaan
Syprian wizard, aka The Worst
Was beheaded once but he got better
Likes to make monsters and kill people
Regrettably good at surviving
Manipulative
Nicholas - Richard Armitage
Tremaine’s father
A talented bastard gentleman thief (emphasis on the bastard)
Frequently presumed dead
Does not suffer fools
Cunning
Arisilde - Paul Bettany
Absurdly talented sorcerer of Ile-Rien
Vanished under mysterious circumstances
In cahoots with Nicholas
Mentally adrift in time but eerily right in hindsight
Good
Niles - Bradley James
Sorcerer of Ile-Rien
Chronically overworked
Fashionable
Annoyed
Dependable

Tor pulled their ebook editions of the first two Ile-Rien books out of stores in preparation for rerelease as an updated and revised duology text that’s coming out next year.
But apparently Black Gate magazine published the whole book for The Death of the Necromancer “with permission” 2013 and it’s still up on their site: https://www.blackgate.com/black-gate-online-fiction-the-death-of-the-necromancer-part-one/
I have the audiobook from the library, but it’s nice to have a text to refer to now!
