Cayden how does it feel to finally be able to poop!!!!
At first the idea of it was exciting, just the thought of not having an ileostomy made me incredibly happy.
But then when I woke up from surgery and knew I would be pooping within the next 48 hours, it was terrifying.
It took roughly 6 weeks to start “pooping normal”.
It’s been roughly 5 months of pooping on my own and I still get nervous every time, thinking there might be a problem—or I might rip something and have to resort back to a bag.
Sometimes I wonder if I’ll always have this fear. Either way, I’m grateful to be pooping again!
