I have been so afraid that people would judge me or look at me in a negative light. 🙈 But, if it helps someone find an answer to what ails them, it is worth it. I truly share because my life has changed in more than one way. Here goes.... I will never forget it. A friend I knew from college, Jaclyn, started posting about gut health and some company called Plexus, and I reached out. You see, I had just beat #coloncancer by having a #colectomy. I had an #ileostomybag as a result of 17 years of #ulcerativecolitis / #crohnsdisease that had never been truly controlled. I was struggling with self image on top of my health, and my gut health was pretty much non-existent. Jaclyn responded to my message, and I ignored her. I spent much of the next several months in the hospital. My body wasn't handling my #bag very well, and I had constant blockages. I was not able to be the mommy, wife, friend, teacher, or HUMAN that I wanted so desperately to be. My body was failing me. It killed me to hear my three year old daughter crying, "I don't want mommy to go to the hosible!!! She just got back from the hosible!" Some time after Jaclyn, I noticed my friend Cara started posting about the same company. I saw her posts, but my mindset was bad. I was in a horrible spot and just knew I was beyond help. I hid her from my feed. It wasn't long before Cara cornered me in my classroom #kindergartenteacher. I humored her and listened as she told me she thought Plexus was what I needed... and I started wondering #whatif. It wasn't until after I carried my #twins with my ostomy that I caved. I was hospitalized seven times in the last 3 months of my pregnancy because my body could barely handle supporting me, let alone two other lives. I had to make a change, and Plexus was it. Well, that change gave me my life back. I did not experience another blockage once I started Plexus.
