Ill Considered - Liminal Space (New Soil, 2021) Genre: Avant-Garde Jazz, Jazz Fusion Artwork: Vincent de Boer Bandcamp
Speaking of UK jazz, the new Ill Considered album Precipice is out today as well, from New Soil
Ill considered are a band comprising of musicians interacting with each other to create freely improvised music, based loosely around simple pre-written themes or composed on the spot. Deep grooves and plaintive melodies ranging from whispered chants to monstrous climaxes, the group react to the mood of the audience and the sonics of the room to create music that is unique to the moment.
Ahead of its release check out an extended, improvised session featuring Ill Considered and a group of special guests recorded down at Total Refreshment Centre to kick off a new chapter their new musical journey. Precipice (Live) features improvisations from: Idris Rahman, Pete Wareham, Buster Woodruff-Bryant, Art Themen, James Mollison, Nathaniel Cross, Theon Cross, James Yglesias
Songs Called Intro
I was compling the 'songs under two minutes' post and released that I already knew three songs called Intro, which made me think of DVD Menu, which I love as a title because DVD Menus, the nostalgia, which got me thinking I should compile a list. I'm sure there are a lot more but here is what I knew / found and liked - songs called Intro/Introduction, by:
Sigur Ròs
Sonic Youth
Plastic Tree
the xx
Black Country, New Road
alt-j
Ms. Lauryn Hill
Nick Drake
Silver Jews
(and few that otherwise let you know it's the start of the album)
Prelude - Nico
Opening Title - Graeme Revell
DVD Menu - Phobe Bridgers
Introduction (Titles) - Danny Elfman
The Opener - Camp Cope
Opener - Ill Considered
Opener - Lordofon (yeah I know it's in Polish but I just found this song and it's a vibe)
and just for good measure -
Outro - Tash Sultana
Outro - Marlin's Dreaming
I dunno I just find a lot of these really peaceful... (not Camp Cope so much but it's cool so it's going on the list)

A few thoughts on recent developments:
While I normally don't go screaming in frustration about things, I am going to point out that the flagging of material that "Violates Community Standards" here on Tumblr is being applied unevenly, and questionably and feels more like an attack than a clean up.
Some of the relationships I have made on here are some of my most treasured. I have found like minded people that I didn't know existed before, and had begun to feel part of a larger community.
Then Tumblr made their announcement on December 3. People I care about are now scrambling, in come cases, to protect their livelihood. In other cases, to find another accepting community.
I am a professional and I do understand the concept of business decisions. Sometimes, a policy will affect a small number of customers to gather a larger number. But when these kinds of decisions are made, it's important as a business to do a couple of things: 1) Limit damage with the existing customers you are pruning, since they could return to you. This can be accomplished through a methodical phasing in of policy. 2) Apply the policy evenly. Customers who find their livelihood threatened, only to discover a human didn't even look at the content, are unlikely to return, or even to speak well of their experience with your business.
For some inexplicable reason, some NSFW content on my blog remains unflagged, while other content that abides by "Tumblr Community Standards" as stated in their announcement was flagged.
For instance, there is content on my blog containing photos of several rooms in a library, which are flagged as inappropriate, as is a mostly clothed woman buttoning a garter. Friends report having pets, flowers and even recipes flagged.
A glass dildo in the ass of a woman, however remains unflagged.
The 2 week time frame between the announcement and the removal of this content would appear to be intentionally designed to impair the ability of blogs with a lot of content to gracefully move their content.
The use of automation to flag content without human review or intervention can be attributed to nothing other than sheer laziness. The automation was clearly either untested, or undertested.
The appeals process mentioned in the announcement (an 'appeal' button that NONE of my flagged content has presented) is either fundamentally flawed, or purposely non-existent.
Tumblr clearly hasn't learned from the missteps of their peers in the blogging and social networking space, and are likely doomed to the fate of many of the older platforms like MySpace.
The recent announcement and moves by Tumblr are at best haphazard and rushed, and at worst, could be perceived as a lazy attempt at a targeted attack on specific segments of their users.
@staff I am sure I’m not the only person with these feelings. Perhaps there is still time to review this process, and work with the affected customers to mitigate this situation?
I have made friends on here. Those who wish to remain in contact, please message me directly, so that we can discuss alternatives. I will maintain this account as long as my patience with Tumblr's attack on it's own users will allow, but I make no guarantee how long that will be, other than to say I will be here at least until the end of the calendar year.
