Red and deep forest green slid down the drain between his feet, along with the water flowing over his body. The soft whisper of the water from the shower would be- should, be calming to most, but Gloom couldn’t help but feel beaten down by the day, despite the fact that they won. Rather than look down at the still-healing wound in his chest, he turned his face up towards the water for a moment.

The door to the bathroom creaked open before it was shut almost as quickly as it opened. Bare feet padded on the tile, someone slid into the shower behind him.

The smell was all to familiar, a smell that made his brain whisper; -mate-.

A pair of arms, one flesh-and-blood, one metal, wrapped around his waist, a head was nestled between his shoulder blades. Lips pressed themselves against his back, light as a feather. They were not lustful kisses. They were the kind of kisses one got to say, ‘hello, I’m happy to see you’.

Kalsifer leant against him like a tired man against a wall. They had a tough day. Gloom would be his wall.
