Okay so something hasn’t been sitting right with me and I think I’ve figured it out
I have felt hardcore uncomfortable during all emotional scenes this season and I think it’s because the cinematic management really holding the show back. I think the writing is dismal with Raven,Bellamy, and Murphy recycling the same regurgitated lines over and over. I’m a Bellamy Stan through and through and yet I’ve felt uncomfortable, cringey, and taken out of the show during all the emotional scenes this season (particularly his crying scene by the lake and the echo story). I don’t think it’s even Bob or T’s acting ability because they’ve both been captivating on the screen before but rather the direction, writing, sequence/momentum, camera work, and editing. It’s felt too teeny bop and fan fictiony in my opinion which is great for shipping but bad for actual quality tv. BUT MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT OF ALL is that I’m getting really really really tired of time being devoted to restating the same concept and then people talking about how much they care about each other but not showing it. I think the magic of Season 1 and 2 is that the show developed each character independently and then followed the actions and outcomes of each person’s independent identity and how those identities became entwined and affected by one another. And through that we SAW how much they loved each other and how much they cared for one another and THAT IS THE MAGIC OF BELLARKE. However I have found The 100 wavering, and especially my zest with Bellarke, because we aren’t seeing characters develop independently anymore (besides Clarke and Murphy). Everyone serves as a plot point for someone else instead of being characters and depth in and of themselves which is creating shallow relationships, shallow acting, and a shallow show made up of people saying they care without showing it. I feel like Jason took the criticism of last year and then poured five times more than necessary of “give talk time”. Give us QUALITY talk time and give it to us when it matters instead of fifty short scenes in five episodes all saying the same thing. IN THIS ESSAY I WILL-
Let’s be real, at this point we all know that Bellarke becoming canon is like 50/50. Right now I’m at peace with it, and fully intend to live off of fan fiction and fanart.
Idk I watched episode 3 of A League of their Own the other day, and it's not like a bad show but its definitely not equivalent to hr. Like it doesn't hit the same spot.
oh it's been a while since the first episode of a show got me as good as this
the other day I started watching the o.c. bcs all my friends watched it while we were teens but i didn't,, anyway I googled the cast to see what r they up to now and I,,, read an article with a massive spoiler?? not thrilled abt that tbh
THE DRESS SIZE I NEEDED IS GONE
So they could have introduced a brother or a sister or a long lost cousin. They could have chosen ANYONE and they brought up a wife ? Really ? So you're telling me that the same woman who CANNOT lie to her girlfriend about stupid things and felt so bad about hiding the test has actually omitted that she is fucking married ? Fuck you. This was unnecessary and awful.
