I feel road trip whump isn't appreciated enough. There are so many avenues to explore: stoic whumpee gets car/regular sick while the van is packed with their found family, whumper shoves whumpee in the trunk, having to take care of a dangerously ill person at a rest stop for some reason. Plus, it's a great way to have whumpee and caretaker or whumper get to know each other better.

So yesterday evening turned a bit dodgy. I went a little overboard with the wine, but I think that there was another factor as well, as I did not have that much, honestly, and I was drinking water throughout the evening. At any rate, I was abed until the middle of the afternoon. Feeling fine now though. I recover pretty quickly. Still, it was ghastly. I wasn’t even keeping water down at one point and I hurt all over. 🥀🕸🌿🖋

Showing up to the hospital at maybe 5 AM, unable to sleep that night. Waiting several hours to get called in, progressively getting worse and worse. The waiting room is too full, so they’re forced to sit on the floor, sleeping on and off for the next little while. Though, when the waiting room is now empty, someone awakes them, finding them to be in worse condition than ever and waiting for over five hours.
