Gastroparesis Progression
It’s scary to think of how far my gastroparesis has progressed.
2011: constantly full, lots of stomach pain
2012: still full with stomach pain, began throwing up at night
2013: began throwing up in the daytime, eventually couldn’t keep any food down (finally diagnosed)
2014: feeding tube
2015: able to eat mostly normally, lots of rumination but could eat vegetables, whole grains and nuts without vomiting, felt over-full and in pain the whole time
2016: began throwing up in the mornings, no longer could eat breakfast, had to puree most foods (rediagnosed, doctor finally listening)
2017: started erythromycin, was able to eat small frequent meals of mostly processed, low fat and somewhat low fiber foods
2018: could no longer eat raw vegetables or fruits, throwing up all the time, started reglan
2019: couldn’t eat any vegetables, hardly can keep down solid food, on mostly liquid diet, still taking reglan, still throwing up
I’m not looking forward to what 2020 may have in store for me.
