They have all the time in the world 🍂
The more active, unusual, bright, bold and inspiring girls and women will be around - the better! Today I remembered which girls from the pages of books inspired me in different years, and I suggest you also share your heroines ~_^
Summer is over. London streets are expecting the autumn rains, last trace of august dissapearing in nightfall gloom. Warm light from the little Soho bookshop windows reflecting on the wet pavement. Angel and demon maybe have just returned from a nice walk in St James's Park. They most certainly have a bottle of angel's best wine in store for the perfect evening. Well, since the Earth didn't end itself, every evening seems pretty much perfect for them. If you want to imagine the future, imagine the smell of books and cocoa in Aziraphale's bookshop, imagine Crowley's Bentley parked outside, very old and brand new at the same time. Imagine the pair of them, looking at each other and smiling.
“Don’t worry we shall have wonderful dreams, and when we wake up it’ll be spring.” ― Tove Jansson
They say you shouldn't look too long in a dark mirror unless you want to see something other than yourself. ⠀ They say that some books in old cabinets have magic power and it is better not to take them in hand. ⠀ They say that on those February days when winter seems endless, candles light up by themselves, the wind comes into the room through closed windows, tree branches scratch on the glass. ⠀ Only there were never any trees... ⠀ Don't listen, don't look, hide under the covers! ⠀ Unless you're a witch. ⠀ If it's not you who conjured the mirror and invited the wind to curl up in your lap, if it's not your books that stare darkly out of the closet, if it's not your candles that light up with a wave of your hand.
“Making a journey by night is more wonderful than anything in the world.” – Moomintroll
...but all these stories have been a part of our lives.
Today I would like to remember Terry Pratchett. Because it was with his books that I spent so many wonderful evenings, sitting on a windowsill and at the same time traveling around the Discworld. Because he was one of the real wizards I believe in.
