Concept: Illinois is definitely the type of guy to put his hand on your thigh while he’s driving. And he always fails to keep a smile off his face when you thread your fingers with his and trace nonsensical patterns on the back of his hand. Regardless of how flirtatious or cocky this man gets he would be such a sap for genuinely sweet and/or romantic gestures. Especially the little ones.
Imagine finally translating some writings you and Illinois found during your last adventure and you’re explaining it to him, bouncing in place and all excited, and he’s just smiling down at you, completely missing everything you’re saying - but it’s okay cause he knows you’ll tell him again when he asks, sighing fondly and faking a frown even as you blush under his stare and start over again.
Illinois falling down because of a loose rock, you grab him just in time and yank him into you with some ease (well, you pretend it was with ease, let's be real, he ain't that light). Illy gets a nice hand full of your pecks and the boy is wrecked. He speaks while avoiding eye contact for the rest of the trip. Once back at the base, you make sure to grab him rather tightly. He can be sure that he'll be safe as long as his fellow adventurer is near. -👻
Im a pretty small dude and definitely dont look my weight due to the majority of it being core and lower muscle (like 5'6 and 200lbs), and while doing my workout today and had the thought of illinois trying to taunt me by saying hes probably stronger, or something along those lines, and then me just lifting him up and continuing to do my squats with him as my weight (ive squatted like 400lbs so his 180ish would be nothing) just to see his reaction
I know this isn’t that relatable, but I’ve been in a lot of caves and honestly youve seen one cave you’ve seen em all and I can imagine telling Illinois this and him getting So Offended and he vows to prove me wrong so every time we go adventuring he keeps pointing out cool parts of caves and even maybe some cave dates

Imagine Illinois not being able to travel. Not being able to even leave the house. Stuck inside with Chicago (the pupper, not the city), spending every waking moment either on the phone or on Skype with you, a local nurse who’s stuck bouncing between home and the hospital, and the two of you sit outside on your porches with your laptops, planning your next adventure and making do with the others image in place of where they usually sit beside you. A little bittersweet but gotta stay responsible!
