Idk if I read this fic already or something like it, or if it's just something I dreamed of, or just thought in my head, but thinking today of an AU where post-Cottage Shane comes out to the Metros(Voyageurs) and Ilya comes out as bi to the Raider(Bears)--but neither come out publicly just yet--and they still soft launch the friendship-via-foundation stuff, Ilya moves to the Centaurs (also comes out to them) and then after the first season of hockey camp the various Metros/Raiders/Centaurs all look at each other and are like "the pining is ridiculous right? We're agreed this can't go on? We have to put everyone out of their misery and get those two idiots together." And then it's like a whole hockey season of dumb hockey dudes doing shenanigans to matchmake two dudes who have been hooking up since they were eighteen and together over a year already.
