"I used to like them when I was 13, but post-hardcore really isn't for me, I guess." Lucas says, playing with a little twig he found lying around.
"Maybe. Isn't there gonna be like a throwback music fest next week?" Chloé asks, tucking a single strand of hair behind her ear and sighing.
"Really?! I had no idea. Third year's barely started and it's already kicking my ass." He grumbles and folds his legs to sit comfortably.
It was 1pm and their classes had been cancelled. Yann suggested they go to the local park which also happened to have a skate park nearby. Lucas had called Eliott to join them and sooner than later the taller boy showed up and was more than happy to go skateboarding with Yann.
"Second year's not half bad, honestly." Chloé admits.
"Maybe for you. You're always on the top of your class." Lucas scoffs.
"Not true! I lost like 7 marks in the test last week!"
"Chloé, I got 7 marks in the test last week." Both Lucas and Chloé laugh at that.
"I mean, you're in third year, so it's obviously tougher."
"I wasn't any better last year either."
It's no news that Lucas had a major drop in his grades the past year. Whether it was the teachers, the students or his mom. Everyone always had a say in how, "Lucas, you were so good! What happened?"
"I don't understand that. What happened to you?" Chloé asks out of curiosity, voicing Lucas' thoughts as he chuckles.
"Honestly? I don't even know, I think I've just given up on education." He jokes, but a part of him knows he means that.
"Well, you've got to figure something out, right?"
"Yeah yeah yeah, I know." Lucas says trying to brush the topic under the rug. Chloé laughs.
"Oh, what's this? Two exes?" A voice comes from behind them. Arthur's.
"Is it a big deal?" Chloé asks.
"Not at all! I'd totally hang out with an ex!" Basile comments.
"Bro, you don't have one." Arthur adds and the two walk away, talking. Lucas and Chloé laugh.
"No but, how are you and Eliott doing?" Chloé asks, a bit out of the blue.
"Good? Great, it's great." Lucas says and looks at said boy who's showing off some technique he learned off the internet to Yann who's doing the same.
"What are they, 12?" Chloé laughs.
Lucas chuckles, "For sure."
"And you? How's dating a straight guy for a change?" Lucas jokingly asks, earning a light punch from the brunette.
"What are they even talking about?" Yann asks skating back to where Eliott was stood.
"Who knows. Rock music or some shit." Eliott says, stretching out his left ankle.
"Done for the day?" Yann chuckles, looking at an already tired Eliott.
"Yeah, I think I pulled a muscle or something." The older boy admits.
"I could tell. Let's go, come on." Yann says, heading back to Chloé and Lucas. Eliott follows.
"What's so interesting, you two?" Yann asks, slowing down his pace and grabbing the skateboard by it's deck.
He settles down to a spot next to Chloé who tosses him a small bottle of water.
"Nothing, we're just talking about Chloé experiences with dating gay men." Lucas jokes.
"Hold on, I wanna know, too!" Eliott says from behind, and joins them. He throws an arm around Lucas and sits down.
"Okay, first of all. Fuck you. Second of all, Lucas is the only one!" Chloé cries. Eliott laughs.
"No but, how funny would it be if Yann turned out to be gay, too." Lucas says.
"Honestly, I can see that happening." Yann fakes a serious expression. Chloé slaps his shoulder gently.
"If that happens, I'll just stop dating men." Chloé says. Lucas dramatically gasps.
"Or maybe it's you! Maybe you'll turn out to be gay and leave Yann for a beautiful third-year girl who's new to school," Lucas rambles on, "Oh no. Poor Yann!" He adds.
Eliott wraps both his arms around the shorter ones neck and playfully squeezes him.
"I'm telling you, Chloé. Second year is everyone's gay awakening. Trust me," He says, changing his tone to a serious one, as a joke, "And hey, if you need some help, I'm here!" He says.
"I'm so tired of you, Lucas." She says, rolling her eyes and chuckling.
"Hey, if you want, I have a couple of friends who'd be more than happy to help you out. You know, with experimenting and stuff." Eliott adds.
"Oh, so you're both just gonna be annoying?" Chloé whines.
"Leave her alone, you two." Yann smiles.
"Yeah yeah. Of course, you'd say that. You have guys and girls running after you, anyway!" Lucas scoffs.
"Can you blame them?" Yann shrugs.
"And anyway, I'm more than certain that I'm straight. Thanks for worrying, Lucas!" Chloé jokes and places a kiss on Yann's cheek.
"Gross. You guys have fun being straight. We're heading home." Lucas fakes a disgusted expression.
"Are we?" Eliott asked as Lucas escapes from his hold and gets up.
"Yes. Before you twist any more of your limbs, it's best if we go home now, Tony Hawk." Lucas says, pointing to Eliott's leg with his eyes.
"We'll see you around!" Yann says high-fiving Eliott and watching his best friend walk on.
"Of course! And Chloe, my offer is still open!" Eliott winks at the younger girl.
Chloé simply gives him the finger and he laughs before catching up to Lucas and draping his arm around his neck, planting a kiss on his temple.
