At first, Sesen didn’t know what to think. A masquerade? They hadn’t had anything like that at the other sanctuary - that he’d been informed of - and the thought of being able to kick back a little bit was exciting. He hadn’t had much when he came, his nicest jacket that was just a touch too short in the arms had been found at the previous sanctuary’s thrift store and he didn’t have any sort of mask. He thought about showing up with partially shifted into his true form but decided that wouldn’t work. It was a time for anonymity, not reality. When he arrived there were a bunch of masks on the table and he chose a shiny, gold one that reminded him of the sun reflecting off the river where he’d grown up.
As he slid the mask on, Sesen stepped into the ballroom and looked at all the people. It was a feast for the eyes as well as the palate it seemed, the buffet table piled high but he really didn’t know what to do with himself so he just headed for the drinks where he saw a large punch bowl with his name on it. Utterly distracted by all of the fancy masks, he didn’t notice the other man before it was too late. Instinctively, Sesen grabbed the man to make sure neither of them fell, not even realizing that he had before he quickly apologized. “Sorry! Sorry, you okay?” he loosened his grip a little to give the guy some room but kept one hand on his shoulder, just in case.

You know how like star Wars is a dystopia and star Trek is a utopia?
Well, in school we learned that every utopia is really like a dystopia in disguise but I think the thing with star Trek is that they are looking for other worlds and seeing if they can help anywhere or if new societys are ready for contact and like all problems arnt fixed but the government doesn't like suck and ppl really are trying their best to make things better and like they fixed the problems with their own world they could which I find interesting. Cuz it's not necessarily a perfect world without struggle -cuz then the show would be boring- but it is probably as close to a tru utopia that is possible.... Also star Trek really be out here getting rid of capitalism completely and doing away with money completely. I mean I've only seen so much star Trek stuff but as far as I know they haven't really gone with the omg we/the organization we work for was the big problem the whole time and if they did I think it would go against star treks very foundation. Idk thoughts
