Clark: You are seeing this right?
Y/N: Yeah, they are really cute.
Clark: Wait but isn’t Kara dating that Mike guy?
Y/N: Yes she is, but who can deny the chemistry between them?
Clark: If they like each other why don’t they just date?
Y/N: One of life’s great unanswered questions.
Kara: You do know we can hear you right?
Clark: No you can’t.
Lena: We can. There is nothing going on between Kara and I.
Y/N: Suuuure.
Clark: That’s like saying there is nothing between Y/N and I.
Kara: Wait there is something between you two?
Y/N: Yeah since when was there something between us?
Clark: Y/N if you want them to admit it you have to.
Lena: Yeah Y/N, tell us is there something between you two?
Y/N: You answer the question first then I’ll answer.
Lena: Whatever, so Kara will you come to the conference with me?
Kara: Sure.
Y/N: Aw a date!
Kara: It’s not a date.
Clark: Okay, me and Y/N have to go somewhere.
Y/N: Have fun on your date! *walks out*
Lena: You too!

It was right after Lena broke the picture in her desk that she decided she had had enough. Enough lies, enough pretending, enough betrayal. Enough of a broken heart. So, when Kara visited her that morning to ask about her, Lena didn't hold back.
The confrontation couldn't have been more nerve wrecking for both of them. Lena didn't want to know anything about her anymore outside of what was strictly necessary. If Supergirl or the DEO needed her, she would comply and that was it. A courteous agreement for the greater good and to preserve the peace among them. It no longer mattered the reasons why Kara had kept her secret from her or how much she had claimed to care and love Lena. At the end of it all, Supergirl and Kara now fused in the same person, were confined to a corner in Lena's mind where a box with all she had made Lena feel once was sealed and left to never be opened again.
It had hurt Lena so deeply that she could only think how much she wanted her to hurt too, make her feel the same she was feeling. Wounded, hopeless, tired. A punishment to fit the crime.
Then you entered her office and she didn't know if it had been the alcohol or the way you looked at her from her door, so innocent and full of concern just like she used to.
"Sorry to bother you but I heard what happened. I thought you could use a friend."
"Thank you, (Y/N)." She smiled sadly at you. "I could definitely use one right now."
And so she did.
It was no secret that you had a crush on Lena, even she was pretty much aware to some extent about it, but you never made a move or showed more interest than it was necessary. There had always been a speck of hope that your friendship with her could became something else but you kept your distance on those matters.
But then Lena invited you on a date and then another and another, and date after date you tried to prove yourself more than just a good friend and someone she could trust.
When the Superfriends found out about you, they seemed relatively happy about it. Or most of them anyway.
You started to notice soon after the way Lena acted towards Kara. However, she never mentioned why it was like this and you also never questioned her about it. Their relationship was still in good terms as far as anyone could see. Lena had made sure of that. So not a single time it occurred to you that something was wrong. Or at least that was you said to yourself over and over and over.
The bites of tension every time Lena and Kara were in the same room. The way Kara kept her eyes on Lena trying to catch her attention, the extra politeness they dedicated to each other when their encounters were inevitable, and how Lena tried to stay on the other side of the room if Kara happened to be there too. Silly glances and coincidences that were made obvious in the was she tried too to stay close to you or showing a little more of affection if there were people around. If Kara was around.
Over and over you had convinced yourself it was due to the novelty of your relationship. How bad you wanted to be near each other, how in love you were with each other.
As the days with you passed, Lena started noticing a few things by herself. How little by little the ache and the sadness that had plagued her dissipated to shed some light on the new feelings nesting inside her heart.
At first, it was strange to realize thinking about Kara didn't hurt as much when you were around. You were by her side and on her side and that was more than enough at the end of the day, having one person to trust and love.
It was the careful, thoughtful way you cared for others and made them feel heard, the many things you liked and tried to share with her, the sound of your laugh when you found something funny on your phone, and the little quirks she had learned about you that were so you she couldn't imagine you without them. The way you looked at the world. The way you looked at her. All of you that helped her forget.
If only you had remained blind to real reason why Lena had choose you to stay by her side, it would have been enough for you too.
It was a Friday night, out with your friends and Lena that you finally found out. Between drinks and laughs and jokes and bad songs on the karaoke, you left Lena's side for a moment and headed to the bathroom. You hadn't notice Kara and Alex had gone there too.
"... this whole thing with (Y/N) and Lena, I know it's getting on your nerves." You heard Alex's voice before entering the bathroom and at the mention of your name you stopped.
"On my nerves?" Kara scoffed in response. "No, that's not what-" The sound of glass breaking made you jump a little.
"Well, you broke your drink." Alex remarked.
"Oh god, Alex, what am I suppose to do." Kara sounded tired. "They look like they are made for each other."
"I wouldn't go that far. I mean, do they look cute together? Kinda. Will that last? No. Why?"She pointed each question and answer and you frowned."It's obvious Lena has feelings for you. Why do you think she started dating (Y/N) in the first the place?"
"Because she hates me and is in love with someone else?"
"Because she's hurt." This was definitely something you didn't want to listen, but your feet had seemed to be glued to the ground. "From what I can see, this is Lena's rebound and I'm sorry (Y/N) had to be the one caught in the middle." You didn't listen to anything else after that.
No one could understand why you had left the bar in such a rush and neither did Lena until she called after you.
"(Y/N), wait!" You stopped dead in your tracks in the middle of the street at the sound of her pleading voice. It wasn't something you ever thought hearing from her. "Would you tell me what's going on?"
"Sure, I'll tell you what's going on." It was a second before the anger came back and you turned to face her. "Only if you tell me first, why did you ask me out the first time?"
She was taken aback for a moment at your question but took a couple of steps slowly towards you as if not scare you. "Because I like you (Y/N), why else would I-?"
"Are you sure it wasn't because you wanted to get at Kara?"
Lena didn't move. She couldn't. Because she knew there was truth in your words. So she let the silence fill the space between you before she was able to respond. Her answer was confirmation enough for you.
"It's not what you think."
"Not what I think?" You scoffed. "And what do I think, Lena? That this whole time I was only a piece you could use in your little game?"
"(Y/N), please, let me explain."
"What for?" Your voice kept rising at every word. "So we can keep pretending you had some kind of real interest in me? So I can keep making a damn fool of myself since I was the only one in lov-!"
You stopped yourself from finishing the final word as you felt your chest crumble and your voice break.
You closed your eyes for a moment and let out a ragged breath before looking back. "Did you even really cared?"
"(Y/N), I..." Yes, she had wanted to say. "I'm sorry." She said instead.
You swallowed trying to keep your voice from cracking. "Yeah, me too."
Lena couldn't seem to move anymore as you turned back and left. She realized too late she should have gone after you but the fear of rejection had made her stay behind.
She started calling soon after that, leaving messages, voice-mails, knocking on your door whenever she guessed you could be at home, only to find no answer. There was no reason to have an answer from you when all she had done was give you the same lies, the same pretense, and the same betrayal she had received from the person she used to love. A fitting punishment.
There were many times, however, when you had wanted to answer those calls. You would hear and read her messages over and over just to listen to her voice again. Although every time you listened to her you felt your heart grew heaver and heavier at every word. Because you loved Lena and it was impossible to you to understand how she was capable of playing you the way she did. You had believed every single word that came out of her mouth, not seeing the calculated moves and actions behind them. Or rather, you hadn't wanted to see them.
"(Y/N)." She called through your door one last time after many days she had spent trying to get a word from you. "I know I'm the last person you want to see ever again, but I want you to know that...I'm sorry."
"I was so angry and hurt by someone that I believed using someone else was a good idea to hurt them too. So, when you entered my office that day, my mind was already plotting vengeance. But you were so good with me, so caring and kind, that I started to forget why I had done all of it in the first place."
"I'm sorry." She repeated. "I love you, (Y/N), and I hope you can forgive me someday."
Lena pressed her forehead on your door and left out a defeated sigh not expecting it to open. She waited for a moment, her last hope of getting an answer.
She didn't receive any.
She turned to leave, finally accepting the fact that her mistake had been too great for you to ever forgive her. If it had been her on the other side of the door, she wouldn't have opened it either, she thought.
But then she heard the knob turning and the little squeak your door did every time when opening and she stopped herself one step from your door. She turned again to see you looking at her with a frown she couldn't quite read. It may have been anger, tiredness, confusion, a mix of all of those even, but when you spoke your voice was filled with concern. The same way you had looked at her that morning from a long time ago.
"You seem like you could use a friend." You said.
"Yeah." She swallowed. "I could use one."
Behind your door you had heard, her words so true that even when you couldn't see her you knew, that for everything she had said and done before there must have been something true. So you swung the door open wide and let her in once more, and that was enough.
Yay, Can you do where reader is a detective and Lena's ex from college? And they meet again in National City? :)
A/N: Helloo guys, here’s another request, a little short, but it was made with love, so please enjpy and know that i keep working on your request!!! Kudos to the dear anon that sent it and let me know what you think about this one!!!! Love y’all
When you moved to National City, the last thing you would have expected was to cross paths again with the one and only Lena Luthor. However, it was probably something you should have seen coming.
She was heir to a multi-billion dollar company, a genius entrepreneur ready to change the world, but she was also part of one of the most powerful and dangerous families in the country. That always put her on the eye of the hurricane, whether you liked it or not, and you now had a job that demanded you to go straight into them.
And know that her mother was behind bars, and the whole police department was after her entourage, you had to knock on her office door, ready to face the storm once again, with your heart threatening to come out of your chest.
"Miss Luthor?" You called feeling off with the formality but she opened the door after a moment.
"(Y/N)? What... a surprise." She was looking at you with incredulous eyes, almost not believing she was seeing you again after all those years.
You and Lena had been a thing back in college. You had met each other during your first year while you took a couple of introductory classes together and you had hit it right away.
Lena loved the fact that you never cared about her last name. She could still remember you always getting a snack before class and sharing it with her if it turned to be too boring, your dates at the local cafeteria, and the long study nights in her dorm room where you did everything but study. There hadn't been another time, she was sure, when she felt that happy and carefree.
But then her brother started to butt heads with Superman and you had to hide your relationship from both her family and the media. Unfortunately, that's when you learned that dating a Luthor was indeed complicated.
You would have stayed with Lena for as long as she had let you but then you also came to the realization that college wasn't really your thing. You had a call somewhere else and decided to follow your guts. Which meant leaving college, and therefore Lena, to join the police academy. It had been one of the hardest things you ever had to do.
"A surprise indeed." You said trying to swallow the awkwardness of the situation and remembering you where there on official business. "May I?"
"Of course." Lena took a step aside and raised her arm inviting you to enter her office. She closed the door once you were inside. "I was expecting Detective Sawyer."
You were expecting that too. Maggie had been appointed as your new partner once you moved to National City, and for this particular case you weren't supposed to come. However, plans changed at the police station as she had found a new lead on where to find the rest of Lillian's network and decided you had to be the one to go ask the questions instead. You thought it also may have been due to the fact that she knew about your past relationship with Lena, imagining you could get a little bit more of information from her. You had tried to argue with her, but it was useless.
"Yes, I was counting on that too, but she was needed somewhere else. I hope this isn't making you uncomfortable." You walked towards her desk.
"No, no, you don't have to worry." She assured you and invited you to sit as she did. "I just...I mean."
"Didn't expect to see me again?"
"Sorry, yes." She admitted. "It's been a long time."
"I know." You looked at each other without another word, taking in how much you had changed in all those years growing apart.
Lena could notice the lines of toned muscle under your clothes. You had a few wrinkles now, and there was a kind of tiredness and toughness that was palpable in your demeanor, which she guessed came with all the years working in the police.
You were amazed by how Lena kept carrying herself with elegance and poise, the fierceness in her expression was still there with a couple of wrinkles too, and she looked even more beautiful than you remembered.
"So, um, I have a few questions, if you're okay with it." You cleared your throat, feeling embarrassed for staring a bit too long.
"Yes, of course." She composed herself. "What do you need to know?"
After that you spent a good hour in her office making questions and trying to decipher as much as you could about her mother's whereabouts before she was arrested. Lena had a lot of things to share and she assured you she was going to cooperate with whatever you needed.
"Thank you, I guess that will be it for now." You said closing your note pad. You stepped out of the chair and starter to walk back to the door.
"Of course, detective, whatever you need." She said following after you.
"Do you mind if we stick to just (Y/N)?" You asked with a little frown. "I hate to admit it but it sounds weird when you say it."
"Only if you drop the Miss Luthor too." She teased and you smiled back at her. "And if you find anything else, (Y/N), please let me know."
"If it leads back to you, sure I will." You said not thinking too much about how that would sound. "I mean-"
"That's good to hear." Lena responded with a smile.
Then, before finally leaving, you ventured to say. "If that's the case, maybe you would like to catch up later, with a drink, sometime?"
"I would like that." She said.
You looked at each other once again but this time realizing that not everything between you had changed. The little spark that ignited your eyes every time you saw each other before was still there. After all this time, like the first time.
A/N: Hi everybody!!Been a while, uh? Fortunately, here it is! the last part of this series!! Really happy to finally finish this, I hope you guyes enjoyed it, as always let me know what you think and kudos to the people that requested this and the next chapters, love you all!

- Part I - Part II - Part III - Part IV - Full Text -
-------------------------------------------------
It was midnight when Lena received the first call that was about to turn her life around.
It had been a couple of months after the attack of the Lost Sons of Liberty and she was still getting used to the silence in her own house. A silence that was plagued with echoes of chattering and laughter of someone that was no longer there. And Lena did not believe in the supernatural but she could have sworn she had seen the ghost of you a couple of times already. It was hard trying to sleep with your silhouette adorning the door frames and your voice calling her in a muffled whisper.
So she rolled on the bed and took her phone from the nightstand after the third ring, mostly so she could stop the noise of it and hear another voice that wasn't the ghost of yours.
"Lena?" She hear from the other side once she answered, not bothering to look at the number ID.
"What is it, Alex?" Lena recognized her voice but couldn't identify its urgency at first.
"I'm sorry I woke you up."
"Don't worry, I'm sure there's something going on so, what is it?" Lena asked hoping there would be something at least interesting to distract her mind.
"There is indeed something going on, but I need you to come to the DEO." She heard Alex sigh. "It's about (Y/N)."
At the sound of your name Lena jolted fully awake from her bed. "What about (Y/N)?"
"I would like to explain it to you, but I think it's better if you see it for yourself."
A thousand things crossed Lena's mind in that single moment and only one strong enough to set her into motion. Hope.
"I'm on my way." She finally said.
When Lena arrived, she was taken to the conference room at the DEO. Alex, Winn, J'onn and Kara were already there, looking at the screens and reading papers as if they were getting ready for a new mission. They almost didn't see her come in as she spoke.
"Lena-" Kara tried to ease the following conversation.
"What is it?" Lena asked as a manner of a salute, leaving the formalities aside.
None of them was bothered by this as they knew why had decided to come in the first place. She was a worried mother about to do the impossible to have her daughter back.
"A month ago our radars started to record certain signatures of radioactive activity." Alex started and handed Lena the file records as she took a seat near her. "We didn't put much attention to it, after the attack of the Lost Sons of Liberty we thought it may have been a glitch."
"What do you mean a glitch?" They looked at each other briefly in awkward silence as Lena passed the pages and read the reports.
"After the radioactive explosion, they were reading seconds of activity in many other locations." J'onn added.
"Yeah, it was like there were being many mini radioactive explosions everywhere." Winn continued. "I double checked the systems. It wasn't an error."
"All these places..." Lena said, still looking at the reports. "(Y/N) was in all of them at least once."
"We noticed that too." Alex turned to face Kara, encouraging to speak.
"I went to check most of them, to make sure there wasn't something out of the ordinary but in every location there was at least someone telling me they had seen some kind of-" Kara struggled to find a word for a moment. "Ghost."
"Ghost?" Lena lifted her eyes from the papers and looked straight at Kara. She flinched slightly at the intensity of Lena's stare. "Are you really telling me a bunch of strangers saw the ghost of my dead daughter?"
Lena thought it had to be some kind of sick joke. She had come to the DEO against all reason, holding some hope in her heart that there would be a kind of miracle that could erase the past weeks of longing and solitude, or at least something that could help her ease the pain of your absence. She certainly hadn't come to hear about the undead. She had enough with the traces of you at home.
"N-no, Lena, no." Kara blurted immediately. "I'm telling you the truth."
"I promise you, Miss Luthor, it is not a game for us." J'onn spoke, her voice calm and collected. Lena imagined he had pondered for a long time before revealing this to her, not wanting to bring her any more sorrow. So she listened and Kara continued.
"At first, we weren't sure about this either but after I visited one of those locations, the music shop in Warden Street, I talked to the owner. He said he was so excited he had finally caught a poltergeist on camera and then showed me his security cameras. Winn, could you?"
"Yes, right." Winn pulled his laptop from the table and after a few seconds the screens in the conference room were on and displaying the security footage from inside the shop.
Lena's eyebrows were going up slowly as she watched second by second the images on the screens. There was a circle of light forming in the middle of the shop, then there was a small explosion, a strong pulse coming from inside the light, expanding and contracting until Lena could see some sort of figure emerging from it. It all looked like a bundle of cables moving and trying to find a way to hold themselves onto the air until Lena realized it had the resemblance of a human body.
"I used the DEO system to identify more security cameras that could have been near this locations. I put the few videos I was able to collect in chronological order and while revising them, well, I think we found more of (Y/N)'s ghost. Look."
As Winn showed each video, the figure coming and forming from these little explosions was taking better shape. Lena could see it now. The nervous system, the bones, the muscles showing progressively like it was a puzzle finding its own form, its own body.
"Lena, we think (Y/N)'s trying to come back." Alex said. "We just haven't figured out how."
The first time Lena ever held you in her arms she had feared for a moment she wouldn't be a good mother. Scared that she couldn't protect you from the evils of the world, scared that she could hurt you too. After all, what did she really know about motherhood? But she loved you. She had loved you the first instant she ever knew about your existence and even more the moment she saw you. You had looked so tiny and fragile once you came into this world that she had sworn to protect you no matter the cost. So that was what she was gonna do.
"Then we will." She assured, more to herself than to anyone else in the room, and they all set to work.
Needless to say, it was complicated task. One day you would be back at the music shop and the next you would be on another corner of the world. There were also many times when Lena returned home hoping she would catch any sign of your silhouette or hear your voice. But your appearances were too erratic and too short to even recreate an ordered pattern. Lena had never seen something like this, not even when you had first tried your powers.
"We have to give her time." Lena suddenly said one evening as she and the rest of the team watched the last video Winn had been able to retrieve of you.
"Uh, how much?" Winn asked a bit confused. "Like a week or something?"
She remembered the initial diagnosis the DEO had given about your powers. The ability to travel from one place to another at will by disassembling and reassembling your own cells at will. Lena guessed you were finally learning the cellular part of that while pulling yourself together.
"Just time." Lena assured with a little and confident smile. "She is figuring it out."
They followed your every move after that. Your mom was hopeful every time they were able to catch you on camera as you looked more and more like a whole body.
Sooner or later, she thought, she would have you in her arms again and, after weeks of following you, Lena went to get a peaceful night of sleep. She never imagined, however that, while they were waiting patiently for your return, the wait for you was already over that same night...or day.
It had been during the late evening when Diana felt the sudden change of energy inside the room. She had been in the Louvre, taking care of the final details in the pieces for the next exhibit, when she felt the air turn heavier and had thanked the gods no one else had been there to see what occurred next.
There was a small explosion in the middle of the room as a tangled figure emerged from the light. Diana had to cover her eyes for a moment to be able to see nerves and veins, bones, muscles and skin, all finding their way and wrapping around to form a human figure. It all finished in seconds and with another flash of light as your body fell heavily to the floor and Diana was finally able to recognize you. She ran to your side, making sure you were in fact you and you hadn't suffered any other kind of injury.
"(Y/N)? Can you hear me?" Diana took you gently on her lap and tried to wake you up.
You opened your eyes slowly, trying to adjust to the newfound light and focused them on her. If you hadn't felt so tired and out of breath you would had slapped yourself on the forehead in annoyance. You weren't suppose to be this far from home.
"Why France?" Diana heard you say with an annoyed but happy grunt before you fainted.
That's when the second call came in.
It had been two in the morning when Lena jolted awake and grabbed her phone imagining it would be Kara or Alex, or someone else at the DEO, to finally tell her you were here. When she answered she heard a familiar voice just not one she had expected.
"Diana?" Lena frowned a bit in confusion. She and diana were good friends and she was not unused to her calls but this was different. She sounded different.
"I'm sorry if I wake you up but you need to come." And with that Lena knew. "It's (Y/N). She's back."
It may have been the fastest trip Lena Luthor ever took in her life. With the help of Supergirl, she was able to reach Diana's apartment in less than an hour. Lena sat beside you as you laid in Diana's bed. Diana had explained to them what had happened at the museum and how you had been sleeping since. She looked at you, the slow rhythm of your respiration and the features of your face. She almost didn't believe you were there.
Then Lena saw you take a deep breath and open your mouth slightly.
"Am I in trouble?" You mumbled a moment after.
"Not yet, young lady, but we'll be having a long conversation about playing the hero." She managed to say, keeping the tears at bay and touching your face gently. "Just wait till we get home, sweetheart."
"Yeah, sounds about right, mom." You said with a little smile playing on your lips. You could be a hero any other day but, for now, it was enough to be back.
Lena had been contacted by the DEO to help them catch you since Supergirl's own strength and speed just weren't enough to do the job.
She developed a couple of devices to keep you restrained and contained and she even used her name's reputation to lurk you into her trap.
"I'm glad you followed my bread crumbs."
"You made it too easy, Ms. Luthor."
"That was the idea."
While the DEO kept you inside a special cell, Lena came often to talk to you or rather study you. She had never met a metahuman like you before.
You refused to talk with anyone at the DEO but her.
Whatever she asked you answered.
"Why me?"
"I think you're clever enough to understand why I do what I do."
"You're no different from those other men."
"I know, I'm worst. But what do you prefer, me against you or against them?"
Your conversations started to become more and more frequent until she finally had to admit to herself she had grown fond of you.
You discovered you understood each other better than anyone else.
When the Daxamite Invasion occurred, and you found out Lena had been kidnapped, you offered your help.
"I heard you helped."
"Well, I couldn't let the Earth be invaded just like that...Besides, if I didn't do anything we would miss our weekly meeting. I wouldn't like that."
"I wouldn't like that either."
You didn't go back to the DEO after that and Lena didn't try to capture you again.
She heard news about you sometimes. They regularly came in the form of police reports about the homicide of criminals. She learned to recognize your modus operandi.
After a couple of months you finally visited her at her office, confessing your feelings for her.
"As hard as it is to believe, I have a heart Ms. Luthor, and it cannot seem to stop thinking about you."
She admitted her feelings for you too and you started to see each other often.
You did what you could to hang out and you used your real identity while being with her.
You made sure to take her out to places around the world she could like. After all, it was easy with your speed.
She also used your time together to show you there were better ways for doing things.
"The good way is not as effective but I could try it a bit more."
"That would be nice."
When the DEO found out about your relationship they did what they could to catch you again.
You tried to come to an agreement with them. They would leave you two alone and you would help them once in a while and cause less trouble around. They had to agree.
After that it was just you and her.
Since she didn't really knew much about you, you came clean about your life, your powers and all the things you had done before.
She talked with you about her life too.
You accepted each other with all your good and bad.
She likes to design new suites for you, using only high tech materials.
You're really protective of each other. You are first on her speed-dial.
She knows you are a softy even when you won't admit it out loud.
You always make sure she knows she's not a bad person and that her family name does not define her.
"You're good, the best of us if I have to say. And I know because I've known some very bad people and you're not like them."
Having make out sessions whenever possible.
Since you need a lot of calories in your diet, she makes sure the fridge is always full and home cooking with you is her favorite part of the day.
You don't get along with the Superfriends but you're there if they ever need you, but mostly because Lena asks you.
You don't really like going slow but she has taught you to enjoy the slow life.
"Come on, (Y/N), just take a moment."
"A moment for you can be an eternity for me."
"Well, if that's the case, I like the idea of spending all of my moments with you."
A/N: Well, helloooooo you guys, here I come with the next part of this thrilling saga. Now i thought it would be just a three part fic but it turned out to be four instead, so next time I update this one, it will be the last. Hope you enjoy this and let me know what you think!!! Love y’all!!!
Lena Luthor & Metahuman Daugther R//Word Count: 1,739
To be dead is a strange state of being. Especially if you are still sensing the world around you.
You couldn't find a way to accurately describe what it was, but you somehow felt all over the place. Like dust filling the air, being there but not really there as something tangible. There was light and darkness surrounding you, a constant mix of noise and calm, of warm and cold. It felt like living inside a little galaxy, a little world of your own.
Unfortunately, you weren't alive, not anymore, and if this was the afterlife it had a weird place to land after... what? You couldn't remember how you had ended up like this. Your cause of death was a mystery and you felt a bit foolish. It was like forgetting something from the shopping list and having to go back for it. Like that time you forgot to grab the cereal and you and your mom where already in the middle of the check out line.
(Y/N).
A familiar voice called.
"What exactly did you find?"
You were sure the answer to that question wasn't cereal but it sparked something inside.
You don't know how much it actually took you to locate the memory, from a shopping trip to a dark room, but once you cleared your thoughts the more you remembered little pieces and scratches of your former life. You felt less lost.
"I found the bomb."
You had responded to the question back then with your own voice and the right memory came rushing back to you.
"Where are you?" Lena, your mom, had asked again.
"Near the my aunt's monument." You almost didn't answer. In front of you was a giant bomb ready to blow out the city.
It was huge, and it looked strangely like an octopus, a ball made of metal placed in the middle of the room with thick cables connected to other machines around. You weren't sure they had prepared you for a something like this at the DEO.
"(Y/N), do you copy?" Alex voice came now.
"Yes! Sorry. I'm, uh, near the Supergirl Monument. Two blocks east, one floor underneath the building."You tried looking around instead of looking at the bomb."I don't think this was here before."
"Alright, we got your location. We're sending the team over there to-"
"What the hell are you doing here?" You heard behind you.
You moved without thinking, vanishing and appearing around the room as quickly as you could. Two Sons of Liberty were pointing all their guns at you, not knowing exactly where to shot and afraid one stray bullet would detonate the bomb before time.
One of them pulled out some kind of charger and pressed a button on it before throwing it on the room. You saw the thing bounce on the floor from different angles, still glitching from one place to another, until a beep and a blinding flash of light came out of it. The light hit your eyes making you stop right away with a scream.
"(Y/N)?" Your mom called. "What's happening? Are you alright?"
"I-I can't see!" You responded frantically, pulling your hands out and trying to hold onto something other than the floor.
That was the moment when your life should have ended for good had it not been for the quick response of Supergirl. You could only heard the gunshots and the screams that followed as Kara entered the room and disarmed those two.
"(Y/N)!" She came to your aid after a few seconds and you struggled at first with her, thinking she was one of the Sons of Liberty. "It's okay, it's okay. It's me, Supergirl."
"Oh, god." She held you as you tried to get up, blinking many times so your eyes could recover. "I think, I'm blind now."
"(Y/N)? Supergirl? Are you alright?"Alex's voice came over the comms.
"We are okay but (Y/N) is having some trouble. They hit her with a flash."
"If by some trouble you mean I'm blind now, yeah, I have some." You said irritated after the whole incident.
"Darling, you're gonna be okay, just keep calm." Your mom assured you. "It may take a couple of minutes."
"Uh, you better recover quickly (Y/N)." You held your aunt by the arm as she walked around the room and stopped a few steps ahead. "We may not have much time."
You rubbed your eyes and let them adjust once again to the light in the room. When finally opened them you were able to see a bit of a blurred image in front of you. It was a timer set down to twenty minutes.
"We gotta work fast, (Y/N), we don't have much time. Winn? Lena? We got-" Kara instructed and just before you could make a move you had to jump at the sound of metal gates closing around the room.
"What's happening?" You asked as the last gates went down.
"None of you will leave now." You both turned to see one of the Sons of Liberty on the other side of those doors, holding a control on his hand.
Kara rushed towards the gates trying to crash into them and break them but the metal didn't even bend an inch. Kara's super strength was doing nothing to it.
"I guess you aliens are good for something." They guy said. "This is Nth metal. Unbreakable."
"Your partner is still here with us." Kara tried to reason with him. "You wouldn't let him die."
"He would be honored to die for the cause. Anything to get rid of you alien scum. Now enjoy your last minutes on Earth." He said pressing another button on his control and left.
A fast beeping followed his footsteps, and you turned at the sound horrified to see the timer go down faster.
"Holy sh-"
"(Y/N)? Sweetheart, are you alright?"Your mom called from your comms.
"We are trapped." You answered frantically.
"(Y/N), try to keep calm. We're gonna get out."Kara came to you and started to examine the room."Lena, they put us on a cage of Nth steel, we can't get out and the timer of the bomb is going down faster now. They are not wasting time anymore."
Kara explained what had just happened and tried to describe the bomb as accurately as it was possible, and everything after that seemed to pass even faster. Your mom had been left speechless for a moment as she processed the situation. You and Kara were trapped with a bomb you didn't even know how it worked and with less time than you had expected. But your mom, along with Winn, got down to business just as quickly.
They tried to evaluate the situation and the possible solutions to it. Unfortunately, it seemed the type of situation that was ruled by Murphy's Law. You couldn't call the rest of your friend for help as they were busy fighting a group of Sons of Liberty that had managed to get themselves powerful alien weapons and were using them to cause more chaos around the city. You couldn't escape the bomb room and when Kara used her powers to open the device, every single cable and component looked the same to you that you feared it would be impossible to stop the tragedy. You were running out of options and time.
"Maybe I could move the bomb?" You suggested.
"Not that I don't trust you, kiddo, but that's the least we want you to do." Winn explained. "We don't know the mechanism of that device. Those cables connected out of it could be anything and if you tried to disconnect them it could cause the final detonation."
"I guess there's only one option." Kara sighed.
"Yes, only one, so listen to me." Your mom called you once more. "You will have to dismantle the bomb yourselves. Winn and I will be guiding you but you have to tell us exactly what you see, understood?"
You could heard the beating of your heart and breath, and even your Kara's, as you tried to follow your mom's instructions to the letter. It was a complex mechanism it seemed. Every time your aunt moved a cable from inside the metal ball something from the machines connected to the ends of its thick cables was activated too. You had to teleport from machine to machine making sure to deactivate what was probably a backup fuse to make it explode no matter what and as you did you kept looking at the timer from time to time, making sure you were still alive.
Your aunt called over the comms for final instructions after Winn assured you taking one last cable would deactivate the bomb. Or at least, that's what they had thought. Kara pulled the cable and the timer stopped for a brief moment before it resumed the countdown once more and the other machines were activated simultaneously. You had what seemed like five minutes, which were in reality just three. Then your mom spoke again.
She was sure there was one last cable to pull off but it was not on the center piece of the bomb. You had to find it and pull it to finally stop it. Kara and you used your powers to try to find it but none of you were able to. After all, the bomb had been designed to not fail.
For a moment, you thought about your family, the heroes they were and their lives, and then you thought about your own. Your powers and what it meant to have them. Being a hero had never been more difficult. But still, you did the only thing you thought could save them all.
"I found it." You said this time as sure and confident as it was possible, muting your ear piece. You would have to make amends to you mom some other life.
"(Y/N)? Are you ready?" Your Aunt Kara called as the timer reached down to twenty seconds.
"Yeah..." You swallowed hard. "Just, uh, I need you to do one more thing."
"What is it?"
"Tell my mom I love her."
Everything after that was a series of flashing images. The bomb, the water, the salt of the ocean, the force of the explosion, the muted sound of it below the waves. The unbearable heat. The shock consuming your body.
It all started to take you back and you knew it was time to make amends.
How about R has contacts and like no one knows except Lena (but she's never seen her with them on) so one day R runs out of contacts cause she forgot to order some more so she has to wear her glasses to game night and all the superfriends are like freaking out cause no one knew she wore contacts or glasses and Lena is just like a blushing mess cause R looks really cute with them on?

Lena Luthor x Fem!R w/glasses//Word Count: 1,355
It was barely nine o'clock when you stumbled on the stairs of Kara's building trying to reach for her door. You grunted annoyed that you had to wear your regular glasses to see where you were stepping. You even had to waste another hour in your house trying to remember where you had left them, tossing around shelves and boxes, until you found them, realizing it was late and then rushing to meet your friends.
But once you reached Kara's door you sighed relieved, contented with the fact you hadn't fall all the way down to the main door, and as you knocked a couple times a familiar face opened up.
"Hi." You said smiling.
"Uh, hi?" Kara responded trying to match your smile, looking confused as who you were until her face really lighted up. "(Y/N)? I didn't know you wore glasses!"
"I know." You groaned slyly and pointed at your face. "These make look a bit weird. Sorry for making you wait, guys." You responded as you walked inside. "Did I miss something?"
She chuckled. "Oh, nothing yet. We were waiting for you."
You tried to apologize again until Kara assured you the games were just about to start. I wouldn't have been fun anyway, she had said, if one of the Superfriends was missing.
"Guys, guess who arrived?" She said taking you by the shoulders.
Gathered on the couches, your friends turned to look at you both. There was a short moment of confusion before the rest realized Kara was walking with you, their missing friend from the party, wearing a pair of glasses.
They were more than amused with your new look and the comments were quick to come your way. "Kara! You brought a new friend?" "Uh, who's the cutie with the glasses, Danvers?" "Wait, isn't that (Y/N)'s evil twin?"
Children, you rolled your eyes and thought to yourself. "Now I know if I try to escape somewhere these will help a lot with my new secret identity."
"Oh, you have no idea." Winn said with a cheeky grin. "Also, nice specs, (Y/N)."
"Thanks, Winn." You chuckled and started to take your coat off.
"(Y/N)?" Lena's voice came a second later, she was coming out of the bathroom and once you turned around to see her you could tell by her face she was truly surprised. "Wow, I-I barely recognized you."
You chuckled. "Well, now I'm definitely keeping these in case I have to hide."
"Quick question." Alex said, making you turn your attention to her. "Since when do you use them?"
"Like, since I was in high school, actually, but I prefer contacts." You smiled sheepishly, a little embarrassed at your forgetfulness. "I didn't realize I had run out of them. So, I'm stuck with these for the night."
"I have to say you look..." Lena seemed to struggle a little with her words. "Nice, they are a nice fit."
"A nice fit?" James raised an eyebrow playfully at her. "Okay, that's probably the best compliment she has received so far."
"No, no- I mean, you look great with them." You noticed her cheeks turning slightly red and smiled at her.
"Thank you." It was strangely sweet to watch Lena Luthor like this and never in your wildest dreams could you have thought that a pair of glasses would do the trick. In fact, it did more than just that.
There was an unusual, or rather obvious, shift in her demeanor once the games started. The space between the two of you seemed to shrink little by little once you took a seat on the nearby couch. You ended teaming up for the rest of the night and there wasn't much your friends could do against you two, except for Alex and Kara, of course. Half through the second game, you also started to notice some lingering looks going your way every time you turned to look at Lena and the little smiles that became more frequent, especially when you tried, and failed miserably, to make some puns.
It may have been an exaggeration but it still made everyone notice, maybe for the first time, how Lena actually looked at you. You didn't believe it at first but as the night progressed you realized Lena's attention was on you. The idea made your heart flutter and, in all honesty, it wasn't the first time you ever thought of something like this happening.
Since you met Lena, a few years back when she moved to National City, she struck you as the incarnation of a goddess on Earth. Hell, you had to remind yourself to breath after Kara introduced you for the first time and even thought there was something wrong with your eyes, because she was pretty much a vision from the heavens. You had a little crush on her from moment one, true, but you never acted on it. She was your friend and you didn't want to spoil what you already had.
However, tonight it started to feel that maybe the feeling was a bit mutual.
After winning you third game and hear Winn complain, for the millionth time, about how the Danvers and you had an unfair advantage, you decided to leave the game for a while hoping he would take his chances having less competitors.
"Make it count, Winn, 'cause when I'm back, I won't be playing nice." You said as you walked towards the kitchen without noticing Lena following suit.
"Are you enjoining our little victories, (Y/N)?" Lena said catching up with you in the kitchen counter as you opened the fridge and grabbed a can of ginger ale.
"Oh, definitely. But it seems the Danvers sisters will try to take back the crown." You smiled shaking the cant towards them. The rest of your friends were already ignoring you as a new game started. "Do you want some?"
"No, I think I'm will get some water but thank you." She said returning the smile.
"Alright." You said opening the can and jumping back instantly as it exploded. The soda ended on the floor, on your shirt and on your face, staining your glasses. "Oh, crap."
You left the can on the kitchen counter as Lena grabbed a dish towel and helped you clean yourself.
"Sorry, I'm a mess." You felt your cheeks warming up as she passed the cloth through your wet clothes. "I didn't get to you, did it?"
"No, I'm fine, don't worry." She assured you and you took your glasses off for a moment, not being able to see clearly anymore with the soda stains. It was a little reminder of why you didn't like using glasses, they got dirty in seconds and it was hard to clean them without making them foggy or scratching them.
"Ugh, I hate this." You struggled with your vision for a second, trying to find a napkin or another towel to clean them up until Lena took them from your hands.
"Here, let me help."
She seemed to be cleaning them with the hem of her blouse and then took a step closer to you to place the glasses gently back on you. When her blurred face came to focus, it was like looking at her for the first time ever again.
"Thank you." You said feeling your chest light up a bit.
"You should wear these more often." She said not looking anywhere else. "They look really good on you."
"If you say so, I guess I can try."
"Good." She said with a little smile and you looked at each other for a while, almost ignoring the whole world around you.
"Hey, uh," you started before the moment vanished, "then maybe you could help me look for another pair, a nice fit, now that I know you like me more with them?" You finished with a playful smirk.
She seemed a bit at your statement and looked down for a second before returning her gaze at you. "Well, just for the record, with or without glasses...I think you look cute, (Y/N)."
Wearing your regular glasses didn't seem so bad after hearing that.
