The first time I heard Yeezus I thought it wasn't much more than a noisey piece of garbage. Since then I've listenend to the rest of Kanye's entire discography. For whatever reason this seems to have Made Yeezus sound better to me. Perhaps it gave it a bit more context or maybe my taste has altered somewhat since my initial first listen. That being said, I still don't think this is a perfect album by far. I like the first track "On Sight". It has a really interesting Kanye signature beat and has some really good bars; though some cringe worthy ones as well. Maybe my favouite track on the whole album is track 2 "Black Skinheads". I instantly want to crank the volume way up every time I hear it. The beat is just so powerful and works so well with the lyrics and flow. Now this where the album starts to take a nosedive in quality. The song "I Am God" is so ridiculous I have to wonder if Kanye is just trolling us with it. He's not a god, he's not the only rapper to ever reach Michael Jackson Status. This song sucks. Track 4 is ok, it just comes off a little cheap and there's a tone of cringey lines in it. It goes further down hill with track 5 where he starts autotuning his vocals, but atleast the beat is decent and some of the bar a are decent. Anyone who knows me knows I can't stand most autotune. It's also used on track 7 but it works a bit better there, I just found that track to be a bit boring. Fortunately the albums picks back up in quality around this point. I'm a bit torn on Yeezus. I absolutely love some some tracks but at the same time theres so many cringey egotistical tracks that it comes to this weird mediocre balance. Somehow in some sense Yeezus is the best and worst Kanye album at the same time. I'm thinking about a 6.2 for now. FAV TRACKS #OnSight #BlackSkinhead #HoldMyLiquor ...
