Mum didn’t go to the market today, so I went to the nearby coffee shop to buy our late breakfast or brunch if you much preferred. Mum asked for Minced Pork Noodle Soup (肉脞面汤) but with Bee Tai Bak (米筛目/老鼠粉) instead. The short rice noodles are cooked with fish ball, meatball, braised mushroom, pig’s liver, sliced pork and minced pork.
Bought my Vegetarian Rice (斋饭) from the store beside the noodle seller. Picked the imitation squids with petai beans 🫛 (Parkia speciosa) in chilli sauce which packed some heat. Love the flavourful stewed knotted bean curd skin. And lastly, my favourite curry mock mutton and potato 🥔 to round up the selection.
