Deceit wakes up with a start, the remnants of the terrible dream still clinging to his clothes his skin. When he opens his eyes, he sees nothing but his dimly-lit room. And no one. Pain seeps into his bones and churns his stomach, but he refuses to let it beat him.

He simply needs comfort.

With that thought in mind, Deceit pulls himself out of bed, and winces at the sharp change from warmth to freezing cold. In a second, he disappears. Remus and Roman share a room, he can find one of them to reassure him. Seeing them both alive will also help to settle his nerves.

However, when he reappears, the bedroom light is on, and Remus is missing. How odd, perhaps he was asleep in the Imagination? He glances to Roman’s bed, suddenly aware of sounds. Oh. Oh.

He leaves without comfort, the sick feeling only worse.

Despite their flirting, and companionship, and understanding, he had not been good enough for Roman. Of course not. All that time, that vulnerability, was a waste.

After all, as far as he knows, Patton is monogamous, and would not “share” with him either way.
