sonic dump (surge, kit, marine)
Me thinking about the possibility of Surge and Kit being in a second season of The Chaotix Casefiles (if we get one)
Some Surge and Kitsunami designs bc I love them so so much
Surge should be allowed to be neurodivergent over weapons. She should have a weaponized baseball bat and the axes she got as a viking in Speed Battle. She should have maces. As a treat.
Let her ramble to Kit about all the ways she could kill a man with her weapons, only for him to add on or present an entirely new strategy of how she could murder someone and let he get sparks of excitement.
Let these traumatized neurodivergent siblings bounce off of each other in a twisted and fucked up way to parallel Sonic & Tails.
I'm a pretty firm believer that Surge and Kit were probably pretty inconsequential orphans. Starline found two SEPARATE kids nobody would notice went missing. I also believe they didnt know each other.
I also don't think IDW should go in to their backstory ever. The vague sense that they USED to be someone is much more powerful than knowing who they used to be. They dont get to know who they used to be and neither does anyone else.
But if I were to go into eithers backstory id do it by having someone recognize Kit. Not Surge. Bc i feel like Surge cares to some extent who she uses to be but Kit doesnt. I'd have someone who knew Kit but not that well. Someone who'd recognize him on TV but not that he went missing in the first place.
The acquaintance will have enough information on kit to remind both of them that they existed before Starline but not really WHO they were. Theyll say stuff like "oh you were always such a headstrong boy" (Kit was headstrong?) "Hows you little friend doing anyway?" (Kit had friends) Things so different from Kitsunami.
and all this sudden info on Kit will make Surge jealous. Kit wont particularly care but that only make her more mad. She'd insist they go to where he used to live to meet this friend.
Only when they get there the closest thing they can find to a friend is other kids that vaguely know Kit. And every description of Kit they get is different from the last. Not so much as to be these people lieing. Just natural consequence of talking about someone you don't know all that well.
This leaves them both more effected than exspected. But particularly Surge concludes she must have been them same. Just somebody nobody new. Not even someone people would recognize on tv. Of course this is just her assumption. The truth? Nobody knows that.
Kit is surprised to find himself disappointed. He didnt THINK he cared. And he doesnt really. But to learn he was basically nobody is upsetting. That it doesnt matter he was kiddnapped nobody could really tell the difference.
My most intricate Surge and Kit headcanon is that I don't want Surge and Kit to remember or learn who they were before they were this.
I like art and aus that do address this, but personally, the closest I myself can get to that is that Surge and Kit were two kids, living completely alone with only each other, and the only piece of that life they recover, is a Surge doll Kit knows he made, and a Kit doll Surge knows she made, but neither of them remember making them.
And that's. It. No one else knew them, and the only ones who would look for them would be each other. But they got both of them, so no one did.
A packaged deal through and through.
This headcanon also reinforces (not the other way around) how easy it was for Kit to become fiercely loyal to Surge.
Following the previous thread, I can imagine Surge being a Sonic fan, which is why it took 232 sessions to hammer hating him into her mind.
