Youtube reccomended me this video, of an opening for a show called “Da Wang Rao Ming” aka Spare Me, Great Lord!. And like, when did China’s animation got this good? It wasn’t that long ago I remember watching a chinese animation and it wasn’t that good by a long shot. I am impressed and jazzed af. I haven’t watched the anime (or donghua I suppose), so no idea if it’s good or not. But if it’s half as good as the opening than I am very interested.

Musical number mistranslates/misses SOME things but they’re like. Negligible and honestly I’m genuinely impressed by how well they kept the jokes/plays on words+the original meaning/message throughout WHILE ALSO MAINTAINING RHYMES HELLOO????
