I haven't really posted in a while. So here are some random updates.

I struggle a bit lately. It's not that I'm completely out of control, but I'm missing motivation and willpower. Not only regarding health and fitness. I have trouble getting out of bed in the morning and doing the task I'm supposed to have finished a long time ago. I could be so much more productive. It frustrates me.

I caught a cold last weekend, but didn't think it was that bad because I only had a running nose. Maybe it did make me more tired than I noticed at first.

Let's start with food

Whenever I had carbs from grains in the past week it ruined my day: I totally get those cravings for more carbs and something sweet. But it also ruins the next day, because I'll feel bloated. Most of the times I just make lame excuses why it'd be okay to have carbs and regret it later. Also, whenever my roommates and I have been hanging out lately, there's always alcohol involved. Not a lot. But my goal was to reduce the alcoholic drinks to special occasions.

So my eating this week wasn't perfect at all. But it wasn't thaaat bad either. I'm enjoying salads for dinner quite a lot lately. Maybe it's the warm weather.

Yesterday, I would actually say, I had a pretty good eating day: Apple slices with peanut butter, scrambled eggs with spinach, salad with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and red pepper. As snacks I had a kiwi and a bunch of peanuts. I'm addicted to everything peanuts. I definitely exceeded the recommended serving size. But as long this doesn't happen every day - who cares?

I can't believe I didn't post about it sooner: My roommate brought a friend's old juicer! How cool is that? I didn't want to buy one as long as I live in the dorms, but now we got one! I'm quite excited! I haven't really made a juice yet (except to see how it works), but I'm planning on doing a juice fast to detox starting Monday. Any suggestions on a good juicing plan are welcomed.

My current goal is to run three to four times a week. It's the only workout I can get motivated to do at the moment. But I need to train more anyway. Except for Wednesday I've ran every time I've planned this week, but this still leaves me with two runs left for this weekend. I've put fixed rest days on days that I donate plasma (like today). But my long-term goal is to be able to workout a bit (e.g. at least yoga) and still be able to donate.

Unfortunately, I didn't record yesterdays run with Nike+. But I'm pretty sure my time was horrible. Things happen for a reason. HAHA

Actually, I've been pretty disappointed with my times lately. I run 5K in around 33 minutes. I've done better before and my goal for the race in July is 30 minutes. I'm worried I won't be able to reach that goal. I like to think I had trouble because of my cold. But it really worries me. I'd be so disappointed. Does anybody have tips on how to work towards improving one's time?
