With strangers, Chiari keeps a polite distance. Like many shinobi, a sudden hand reaching for her will have her subtly stiffen and grow wary.

The strictest boundary here would be her face. In this case, a stranger reaching toward her face, especially with any level of haste, will likely end up in an unpleasant situation - anything from a firm grasp of her hand around their wrist, to a blade at their throat. If it's a more subtle movement or attempt to touch, she will find a more tactful and subtle way to maneuver herself out of direct reach.

As she grows comfortable with someone, the contact seems almost accidental. An arm brushing against an arm. A light brush of fingers against skin, an arm, a shoulder, to get attention.

It turns into a grasp, still light, or a flat palm against someone's back to direct them. It feels safe. Grounding.

After that, she becomes a bit of a leaner. Holding onto a forearm. A hand hooked through an elbow. Even a head on a shoulder if she's feeling especially affectionate. She will slowly shed that rigid posture of a shinobi. Resting a shoulder against someone else's. It's all about shared space.

I would think, given the rambling headcanon about eye contact as a sign of trust, physical touch near the eyes, around the face is a gesture of completely lowered guard.

Okay so after almost two years I think it's time to actually start posting something here, just for fun ofc.

I really like Tumblr so I might just use it as a comfort zone on the internet since it's so hard and exhausting everywhere else (I'm still chronically online and I won't do much about it)

And since I spend most of my time drawing (instead of studying and doing whatever I am supposed to do daily), I'm pretty sure that will do it.
