Friday Fic Update: 11.8.2019
I posted my NaNoWriMo experience earlier - Nov 1-7. It’s been good. Now this is my post for everything since my last Friday Fic Update, so Nov 2-8.
I have reached 100,000 words in Taking Flight! I am intent on finishing it this month. It will be the second novel-length draft I ever finish. Not just in my life, but in this year. (A Field of Stars being the first.) I will have gone from writing zero novel length fics per year to 2. I’m astounded.
I also worked a bit on other things. I have a Gift Fic waiting for me to feel it out and take it forward. I finally figured out the missing piece today and I’m excited to get it going. It’s a tropefest!
I’m working on my Auction Fic as well from the Mark Gatiss Birthday Charity Auction to benefit Switchboard. I really like this one.
Lastly, I had this Plot Bunny hop around in my brain and demand attention. The plan is to write a few scenes for it this month, but really I need to outline it and tell it to wait its turn!
There was a second plot bunny too - a 2 part plot bunny. I managed to write the titles and summaries for both parts and put it away. I did not count that toward my words. But I’ll probably write it in January. We’ll see how all this other stuff goes!
Taking Flight: 16,567 words
Total words? 21,739! A record breaking week! Thanks to NaNoWriMo. In all honesty, I’m trying to get ahead, because I know that last week is going to screw me up. 😄
Much love to everyone and hope if you’re doing NaNoWriMo, you’re having fun with it.
