CEID tutorial assignment 1: Social media communication
The topic of online netiquette is relevant to the expectations surrounding the use of social media. In this Twitter post by Buzzfeed, online netiquette is portrayed negatively, which does not correspond to this social media best practice. Scott Disick used his social media platform to communicate unprofessionally concerning Kourtney Kardashian, showing casing the use of bad online netiquette. Scott states in his tweet, “I couldn’t do the job of being with her, so I salute Travis. Like, he’s in it for a lot of work.” This displays the use of communicating offensively toward Kourtney, leaving her uncomfortable. Another main factor portraying bad netiquette, as mentioned in module one, is the use of flaming others in public using passive-aggressive web posting. Additionally, Scott Disick negatively and aggressively speaking about Kourtney highlights inappropriate online netiquette. As mentioned in module one, social media can ensure appropriate online netiquette is to following professional communication tactics and language. Although, primarily in this Twitter post, offensive and unprofessional communication highly emphasize inappropriate online netiquette.
