An incapacitated character who is aware enough of their surroundings and the activity around them but too weak or out of it to actively participate- watching proceedings blearily from where they lie or slump, through half-lidded eyes and scarce able to lift their head, possibly unable to so much as speak; reduced to a mere spectator as others around them continue the action.

My absolute favorite is when a whumpee is completely incapacitated and unable to move, but still conscious (even if only barely). Knowing whumper is right there, and completely free to pick them up and move them wherever they like without any issue. Caretaker panicking as they see Whumpee completely unresponsive, while Whumpee cant even make a sound to let them know they can hear them
