“uh, are y’sure? last time i was tryin’ to show you how to build your god damn desk. an’ what did y’do?” she narrows her eyes, using two fingers to point at her eyes before pointing them back at sena. “y’weren’t listenin’. i asked you if y’knew what to do, y’said yeah, an’ then proceeded to work on the part you had been workin’ on for a good hour. tsk... tell me that isn’t clueless with a straight face on.” hyejung groans, licking her ice cream and averting her attention from sena for a moment. she didn’t want to get into a stupid argument while they were hanging out. today was a good day, no need for it to get ruined. then again, good days can always turn bad but it could always be turned upside down after that. this is why opposites exist. “how.. how ‘bout now? what’s goin’ on now?”

Silence. So much silence that her question sounded loud in the room. It was almost embarrassing, second-hand embarrassment that Sena often suffered from. Why was beauty such a big thing? Why did people feel the need to be better and prettier than others. She knew that plastic surgery was a well-known option, she had often even thought about getting it herself. Just like botox.

Hands rested flat against the surface on the table, a soft laughter filling the room. “Who said that it is not possible to make yourself look more beautiful?” Brows raised upon her own question, “There is a lot of things you can do to change your appearance, but the most beautiful thing is still confidence.”

Her eyes diverted to the side. Yumi already knew she was pretty, and of course, it’s obviously impossible to get any prettier (in her mind). She was confident about herself and her looks. However, her personality was another thing.

“Well... me... because how can I be any prettier than this?” It was a rhetorical question that slipped her lips as she grinned to herself. Yeah, call her cocky and whatnot, it’s just how she feels. Perhaps, the girl didn’t quite grasp her sarcasm before. “Confidence is always the key to beauty, don’t you think?”

Who was she to be bullshitting her like this? Did she think she was funny? Was that what she had atempted to do, before Sena her arrival? Was it? Her eyes closed and a scoff emitted past her lips. How ridiculous. If she had wanted to take her life, could she not have tried better? They say that those who do it so obviously, did not really want to die. If that was true, Sena did not know. Many attempts she had done in taking her own life, many attempts that failed. Friends. The institute.

“Don’t be ridiculous.”

She sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose, in the end she wrapped her arm loosely around the fragile shoulders of the woman next to her. “You do not apologize for being alive, you do not have to be sorry. Everyone deserves a place on this earth, so do you.” If this was not one of her worst traits, pretending to be some saint. “Do not try it again.”

sumin couldn’t remember the last time she had been embraced but she told herself it wasn’t that big of a deal. people had needs, emotional needs, but she put up a very convincing façade that she was the exception to the rule. even as the other female wrapped an arm around her shoulders, sumin remained with the same expression on her face. 

“i didn’t try to kill myself, if that’s what you’re thinking.” despite her words, that had been purely sarcastic, the brunette had no interest in dying. not yet. she had an ultimate goal that she needed to reach first before she could join her parents wherever they were. “trust me... you’ll be putting up with me for a very long time.” there was a cheeky smirk on her lips that appeared out of nowhere, arms crossing over her chest now that the other female had let go of the embrace.

“it was cute though... how you were worried about me. never thought i’d see the day.”

The hint of sadness in his voice was prominent by the time the woman spoke. They were getting close to a familiar place, where Yoohae would go to when he was lonely, especially when he's sad like he is now. Being the quiet one when with one person, it felt odd to him that he was now showing signs of happiness, being talkative with someone new in his life. Though Sena wasn't truly a foreign person to him, he felt like they could have great conversations, though this one wasn't a really good one. He sighs and rubs the back of his nape. 'Hm, I guess old people have their way to show that they don't want their stuff taken from them.' He shrugs. ' You know what? Food sounds good-- since I've been deprived of food, by my own grandmother.' He frowns, rubbing his tummy.  'Where in Hongdae district are we going today?'

Vartouhi bit her bottom lip, eyes frantically darting around the room to take in the expressions and body language of every person present. Even more worrisome, were the people swaying as they stood, gripping their red cups too loosely. “...I... admittedly would not know. I’ve never thrown a party before.” It wasn’t a complete lie--after all, back on Balah, she had never had to prepare a celebration almost entirely on her own. With an anxious huff, she whined, “If the point of a housewarming party is to help the host feel more at home in their new living space, then why do I feel so uncomfortable? Or is that only temporary?”

SENA LOOKED AT HER friend in curiosity when she spoke, to be honest she had not been paying attention to what she was doing. It must have been quite rude of her and a hint of guilt flickered in her eyes when she smiled. Instead, she had been focusing on the blank papers displayed in front of her, a small pencil dangling between the tips of her fingers. Drawing, a thing she once loved so much, but now had zero inspiration for. Once, it took her mind off of everything, but now it only seemed to the worst. Sena cleared her throat and bit her lip.

“You are… Getting the hang of what… Exactly?”

Whilst the younger was focused on the blank papers before her, Micha had been focusing on using a practice CPR doll to practice one of the techniques that she’d struggled with. She had to perfect this specific technique before the exam on Friday and that was in two days. She hadn’t realised the female had been paying attention to other things as Micha was paying attention to her own work. “Oh uhm this technique.. It has a strange name,” she chuckles pointing to the piece of paper she was using as a guideline to actually do the technique. “It’s really... difficult.”

☣        SENA HAD NO IDEA what time it was, looking at the dark sky and the fact that the lanterns lightened up the streets, she guessed it was somewhat far past dinner time. Yet, a part of her felt always hungry whenever she was out, maybe because of all the food stands she had to pass by. Her eyes settled on the man, brows raised high as curiosity took over. “Why? I am certain it is pretty late, are you complaining?”

Not feeling intimidated by the woman was impossible for him, he wasn’t quite sure why, maybe it was the way she carried herself or the tone of her voice, but something about Sena made him feel small and almost uncomfortable. It was like every word that came out of her mouth was to scold JJ. “No-- of course no, I was just wondering if it wasn’t too late to eat.”  As a reflex action he ran his fingers through his hair, nervous he could make her upset.
