Orpher, to Thranduil: Don't take this as a complaint, because it isn't one, its the farthest possible thing from a complaint. But jusy checking in, it's been over two weeks now, how are you coping without your regularly scheduled near death experience?

Oropher: I’m not sure why everybody always infers that Thranduil being smarter than me is such a problem.
Oropher: Does it make it harder to parent him? Yes.
Oropher: Does it make it next to impossible to contain him? Undoubtably,
Oropher: Does trying to anticipate what his next great scheme keep me up at night? At least once a week.
Oropher: Where was I going with this?
Oropher: Despite what most people seem to beleive my son is extremely intelligent with an excellent memory, keen eyes, and an almost unrelenting desire to do what needs to be done to accomplish his goals.
Oropher: However these qualties are seemingly exclusively utilized in order to accomplish the Dumbest Things Imaginable, so I can understand where their confusion might come from.
Thranduil: That's not true, Ada.
Thranduil: I also use them to commit crimes.
Thingol, watching teenage Thranduil do something that he absolutely 100% should not be doing under any circumstances, but not wanting to be the one to deal with it/him:

Oropher, not falling for it and turning the page of his book: Historically, whatever the hell he wants, so probably that.
Oropher, starting the very next day after Thranduil is considered an adult whenever somebody trys to get him to reprimand/put a stop to/reason with Thranduil:
Oropher: Don't look at me. This isn't my problem. This is your problem.
Oroher: I did my job already. Im done. Retired. I kept him from tearing you all apart when he was a hormonal teenager.
Oropher: Maybe next time you'll think twice before starting a fight you cant finish.
Oropher, calling over his shoulder: Goodluck! Toodles!
Oropher, covered in stress sweat, full of anxiety, and out of breath from trying to stay one step ahead of Thranduil at all times: Valar, one day I hope he has a child that's just as problematic as he is.
