Fourth post

How happy does it make me to see my project moving forward?

I’ve just finished the core programming modules, so the game is now playable.

However, it’s still not complete in terms of UI design, music, sprites, and special effects.

Ah… at first, I wanted to work with VN Maker (thinking it would be easier for me 😒…).

But NOOOO!

It was driving me crazy to see my sprite files not being recognized properly.

So I quickly switched to Ren’Py, which I thought would be too hard for me. Turns out… that was completely wrong.

(Goodbye my $16 💸😔)

The small issue is that the “QUIT” button is literally ON the pinky finger 👇

I won’t fix this for now — I’m focusing first on what matters most to deliver a better gameplay experience.

PS: I felt really stupid pretending to be a professional hacker while coding, lol.

Some drawings I made a few months ago for a video game project I've had on the back burner for years. It's a fantasy game that plays like pong where you play as a heroic pile of puke that fights fairies that summon dragons. The fairies have captured a bunch of dumb mice and forced them to mine for more dragon beads to fuel their war effort against the goblins (They need beads to summon dragons and the goblins destroyed their supply). All the fairies illustrated here are bosses you encounter.

This is the game project made in Godot as I left it the last time I worked on it so that you can get a small idea of what it plays like. The vomit has a dragon bead that he put his heroic spirit into, which allows him to use it like a projectile weapon. If it hits the floor it breaks, so you gotta watch out for that. Additional dragon beads are picked up throughout the dungeons. The purple spheres represent standard fairies and their basic attacks. The blue bars on everyone are special meters. The player uses it to dash or throw a projectile, and the enemies use it to dodge the ball (later for special attacks).

This screenshot below is from an earlier attempt at the project from a very long time ago in Unity back when I didn't know what I was doing. He's deflecting a dragon's attack back (You can attempt to smack most attacks back which makes them dangerous to the enemies instead of you, something you see in the video once or twice). You can see the fairy holding a dragon bead here. The objective when fighting dragons is to take out their summoner, as you can't damage dragon's directly.

Ja expressei o quanto eu o amo o @nekoboydreams, ( kakakakaka foi até ironico pq eu só coloquei o @ e já marcou ele) , enfim tenho muito orgulho e fé no seu projeto, e pode levar todo tempo do mundo, sei q será perfeito. Tenho muita admiração e inspiração nesta projeto serio mesmo, o nível que uma produção inde brasileira chegou por cima solo e estupendo, chegou a nível mundial, e é realmente incrível, pra mim vc representa o varias partizinhas Brasil, eu estudei muito de forma aprofundada e dediquei-me a Commedia Dell Arte, e tbm estudei a pirâmide hereditária dos palhaços e suas distinções, e ao jogar o seu jogo é o puro fruto disto, quase surtei e meu coração estava pela boca, quando vi o último comic, com os trages originais, foi como um reconforto no coração e orgulho por saber do que se trata, além do fato deles tbm serem parte da cultura do nosso país, ( brasilzinho no nosso coração ), ( e fiquei com vício em músicas sobre o pierrot ) enfim, eu te amo muito, e adimiro seu trabalho, um dos meus sonhos atuais é poder te encontrar na CCXP, caso vc vá, você é uma pessoa incrível neko, um artista incrível, e um escritor espetacular tbm, nunca esqueça disso, e sabia q sua obra chegou e aqueceu milhares de corações.
