This is a thing...

So I’m writing a feature film and I thought I’d blog about my progress here since tumblr is the kinda of place for things like that. My goal is to write, shoot, and edit the entire film with practically zero budget and a bare bones crew, and it’s likely I’ll be doing the music score myself too. Ultimately I just want the experience of creating a feature length film, even if it turns out crap. I’ve learned so much about film over the years, earned a ba degree in film studies, and directed dozens of shorts; I feel that I’m finally ready for my directorial debut. 

So far I have a rough outline of the film, solid characters, and no title. It’s more or less a romantic comedy with the spirit of adventure at it’s heart. The main themes are loneliness and friendship. And it deals with the struggle that most 20 somethings have as they’re learning to become ‘adults’. This topic mostly stems from the fact that I’m a 24 yo who’s still learning to adult. Writing this film is a way to express what I’m going through while also taking a major step (or gigantic leap) towards my career. 

For those of you that have followed my journey thus far I thank you, your kind words and support have kept the fire lit inside me and I couldn’t have gone this far without you.
