Stealing The Fairy’s Wings Announcement
Very excited to announce my new novel!
This novel follows the story Matthew Cadwell, an Osage man living on the Osage Reservation during the Indian Renaming Act during the late 19th/early 20th century. He is raising his niece, Clara Cadwell, and trying to find a way to keep her from being sent to a Residential school.
When he goes on a “hiking trip” to try to clear his mind, he stumbles upon a Daoine Sídhe, a Celtic fairy. She was hurt by a hunter and Matthew, unable to leave her despite his own anger and fear, takes her back to his cabin. Clara and the Fey get close, but Matthew tries to keep her at arm's reach because he sees the faces of his oppressors when he looks at her. When the US soldiers come to take Clara away to the school, what will Matthew do? And will the Fey help him, or hide herself since she's still injured?
It's a slow burn, enemies to lovers, soft romance but mostly a historical, political fiction. I will be uploading a chapter every other week to my side blog @hawks-hobbies and reposting it here when I have more of it done. This novel is very PG13, with the main reason for that being genocide, violence, kidnapping, abuse, etc.. There is minimal spicy content and it's more implied than on this blog.
I have a tentative publication date of the full novel and some extras on August 2, 2026 (my birthday <3).
I'm very excited to be able to share this piece with you. It originally was a comic, but I was unable to finish it due to my own art skills, so this novel has really been in progress for almost a decade.
I will be creating a newsletter soon for everyone that wants more updates with my work.
Thank you everyone for all of your support. I feel so lucky that I get to monetize my work, and that I have so many people who enjoy it so much.
Side announcement: I will be changing up my Ko-fi shop from 18+ to 13+. Soon my Patreon will be the only place to get the early access to my 18+ content, and Ko-Fi will be for purchases only and a membership for other 13+ content like early access to the chapters for Stealing the Fairy's Wings. I will give more information soon!
