Why does everybody say that you can indite a ham sandwich? What about bologna or turkey? Can they not be indited?

I'm willing to take whatever internet face-slap comes after I post this, but I would like opinions.

Right now, I see many posts that are "shutting down" white people. By that I mean posting fake dialogues about PoC and one line is just labeled "white person" and by the end this person has been cut off from talking and told their not allowed to speak.

I understand that there are a lot of people mourning right now, who are scared right now, and who are pissed as hell right now. And I also understand that white people really are not the ones in that position. BUT, why does that mean that the conversations between races should be shut down? Personally, I really don't think they should be. There is a lot of ignorance on white people's side of things, and some other races too, maybe even black people's from some places, who knows? I think the environment people are in has a lot to do with this too. How are we going to solve ignorance if we don't all talk? If we don't all ask questions? If those who have answers don't give us the time of day to listen to and answer questions with an understanding, and those posing the question don't take in the answers they receive with an open mind? From what I can see right now, the answer is that we won't fix anything like this.

So please, I realize that right now this issue is heading in a direction that is very literally black and white, don't let it head that way. Steer it in another direction, instead make it a HUMAN issue. Because before we are a race, a gender, a religion, WHATEVER IT MAY BE, we are human.

These are my opinions. If you'd like to weigh in, please don't hesitate, but also please don't be too harsh on me. I'm a Midwest raised white girl who moved to Arizona of all places... My world is small, I realize and that fact; my understanding may be as well, but I want to fix that.
