Unpopular Opinion: We expected Good Omen’s ending to be bad.
Ok. All I’m seeing right now, are COMPLAINTS about Good Omen’s finale. And honestly? I thought it was the only way you really could wrap up a 6000 years of pining. Yes they could’ve actually kissed, yes they could have held hands and sing koom bye yah after bringing the world back, but that’s not how you end something already tragic. Good Omens is a comedic tragedy. We’ve seen it time and time again throughout the show, especially in the book, but everything Crowley and Aziraphale do is ineffable. The world was always supposed to end since the first book. The reality they live in is cruel. Then at the end we were shown they were together in every other universe. Crowley and Aziraphale’s story ended so that they could live together freely in every other book.
Now could they have rewritten the whole universe and made it less “big”? Make it so that they were already living in some “Clock Maker God Theory” universe and they live happily ever after.
But “who wants to live forever”?
The ending of Good Omens was not bad, but we were expecting it to be. You may not have liked it, but it was the ending it deserved.
Alright, buckos! If you didnt like the ending, if it isnt what you wanted, head to AO3 and make it happen! Flood us with your fanfics and fanart! I want to see it! Thats what they fought for. Make it happen. Bring it to life. Change it. Say it.
I currently just can’t be on the internet cause I’m gonna be so honest:
I really enjoyed the GO3 ending!! I understand that people were upset by the fact that they weren’t outwardly/physically all lovely dovey but honestly I thought they were incredibly sweet regardless. In no world did I ever think I’d canonically see the husbands actually get married and retire in South Downs so that made my heart absolutely melt <33
Also also (and I could be reading this wrong but this was my interpretation) it was clear to me that everyone in the universe had already been proofed out of existence and Aziracrow has two options:
1. Put everything back the way it was
2. Put everything back the way it was without Angels or Demons
Because they never specified that everyone who used to be there was just gone??? Like that just didn’t happen???
Idk either way, was it everything it could have been? No they had to rush it. But was it everything I needed? Yes, it still warmed my heart and made me tear up.
If you don’t agree that’s fine, I’m not here to argue, y’all are allowed your opinions. Let’s not fight about it because that’s not what this is about. We all love the characters and had different ideas of what the finale would be in our heads. Regardless of our opinions on it we all still share a love for the series and I’m sorry for the people that are disappointed.
Just realised the reason why Jesus' plot didn't lead anywhere is because his job of dying and getting resurrected in order to free the humans from an oppressive situation was actually already taken 🤯

I think Crowley & Aziraphale deserve a day off somewhere nice and quiet after all the horrors and separation.
Just the two of them, sitting on a blanket with a basket full of food and good wine, holding hands and talking and laughing while their half black half yellow Bentley parks nearby and plays soothing music...
