⚠️ FINAL EPISODE SPOILERS ⚠️

It’s been 24 hours since I watched the finale.

I cried so much. I haven’t cried like this since Snape died.

I cried because the circle finally closed. The book is over, and it left a demon-and-angel-shaped hole in my heart.

A hole I’ll fill with the incredible fanfictions and fanart created by unbelievably talented people who keep making me emotional over and over again.

Good Omens brought me nothing but joy through all these years. Endless, pure, simple joy.

Even when those two stubborn idiots weren’t talking to each other.

And the ending is… right. Bittersweet, but right.

I’ve seen people complaining because there wasn’t an “I love you,” but the entire film is one long “I love you.”

Crowley says “I love you” when he admits he kept the bookshop untouched because he couldn’t bear to lose it. Crowley says “I love you” when he gives up his beloved Bentley to protect the bookshop. Crowley says “I love you” every single time he calls him “Angel.”

Aziraphale says “I love you” when he rushes back to Earth the moment Muriel says Crowley isn’t well. Aziraphale says “I love you” in the Chinese restaurant. And in the bookshop… with God and Satan there… oh, that entire scene is one endless love confession to Crowley.

They don’t need to say “I love you.” They know. And we know.

That’s enough.

A kiss? Yes, I would have loved to see a kiss. But what they shared instead — so chaste, so simple — was probably the most intimate and romantic gesture of their impossibly long lives.

They chose humanity, even at the cost of themselves. And honestly, that is one of the most canon things I have ever seen.

And the ending… the ending. That human life. That house. That garden…

Asa and Anthony showed us that it doesn’t matter if it’s another universe. It doesn’t matter if they are no longer an angel and a demon.

In every universe, they will always find each other. And they will always love each other.

Forgiveness...

In the bookshop at the end of Go3 Aziraphale asks Crowley to forgive him, he pleads and stresses he needs him to say it because it means so much to him to have Crowley's forgiveness. Forgiveness is something Aziraphale greatly values - he forgives others as an act of sincere love and at the end of time after being able to forgive Michael for destroying everything, his main concern at the forefront of his mind is will Crowley forgive him. When he does he looks so gently and fondly at Aziraphale, after Aziraphale thanks him❤️

Which just highlights that -

Aziraphale does not ask God to forgive him.

God appears, tells Aziraphale all the sins he has committed in her eyes

"you lied to me"

"you were lazy, gluttonous, prideful"

She asks if he has anything to say, any questions. It would be an opportunity to ask God for forgiveness. But instead Aziraphale agrees with her, he has been

Lazy - making a work arrangement with Crowley so that they can spend more time together

Gluttonous - allowing himself to be tempted with food and then opening up to new human experiences, especially ones that enable long lunches at restaurants or quiet evening meals in the bookshop with Crowley

Prideful - Aziraphale wanted to change God's plan for the Second Coming because he thought it was wrong, God 'didn't tell him to stop' but now accuses him of thinking he knew better than her, of questioning her divine plan.

To all of these Aziraphale answers

"Yes it's true"

And does not apologise or ask for God's forgiveness

Neither does Crowley (why would he?)

So when God wants Aziraphale to ask his question after confronting him with his sins, she is probably expecting that he will feel ashamed and beg for her forgiveness, but instead he tells God to her face

If he doesn't agree with you,

If he does silly things,

If he talks too much,

If he doesn't talk to you at all,

If he repeatedly embarrasses himself,

If he makes bad decisions,

If he comes with I-told-you-so,

If he acts like he doesn't care.

And if you do it right, he will look at you like you are the only one in the whole wide universe.

"What did you want to tell me when you came?" the demon asked him in a caressing voice.

Aziraphale laughed with gusto. "Ah, do you care now?" he asked, trying to hide the concern that had brought him there. He didn't want to ruin that moment yet.

Crowley gave him a playful pinch on a buttock.

"There is a scale of priorities to follow, angel."

They laughed together again. 

Hearing Crowley's laughter echoing through the walls of that room was like going back to listening to the heavenly harmonies in Heaven, before the Fall, when all the angels sang together. It was an extremely precious sound-and all too rare.

I am a very loud and expressive person and so when I was watching season two last night with my good friend, whenever I noticed something or thought of something I scribbled it down quickly to get it out of my system and to not ruin the experience for my good friend.

Here are the notes haha

In the scene where Aziraphale is retrieving the box from his front door you can actually see the Gabriel fly crawl inside the box. I hadn’t noticed it before.

When Crowley is trying to get Jim/Gabriel to remember stuff the second time round you hear his distinctive miracle casting sound go off before Gabriel is able to spit out the line from Job. Just thought it was interesting.

With some extra thought about the whole thing I came to realise why ineffable bureaucracy made so much sense. I feel as though some feel it was very out of the blue but it really wasn’t there were hints from the beginning.

For example: Why was Beelzebub so hung up on trying to find Gabriel in the first place? Because they were worried about him. If the two hadn’t found love together Beelzebub wouldn’t be so hell bent on finding him. It wouldn’t concern them at all whether an Angel was missing from Heaven. Just thought it was kinda neat the little inconsistently.

Also I was laughing over the fact that the Gabriel fly was just around watching Jim/his body just do the weirdest shit. Do you reckon he was disgusted watching his body drink hot chocolate for the first time?

What would’ve happened if Jim had actually used the two book successfully as a fly swat and crushed the container? Would the memories have been destroyed? Or would they have just flown everywhere and looked like the set up in heaven with Gabriel’s file.

Also something neat the fact that Gabriel gladly accepted the hot chocolate from Aziraphle and then drank it should’ve been a very strong indicator to Aziraphle and Crowley that Gabriel was not faking anything.

Lastly I had a theory come to mind.

Now that Aziraphale (curses) is going to become the top dog in heaven will he get purple eyes?? Or at least weird eyes

I just thought cause no other Angel has different eyes accept for Gabriel

I would say it has something to do with being an archangel but we see Crowley (who is more or less confirmed Archangel) before his fall and his eyes are pretty normal by all standards.
