Using Other People’s Work

It’s come to my attention that the photos that I take and post here on Tumblr have been showing up on other sites without credit to me or to my Tumblr blog. Sometimes this happens on Tumblr as well, and there isn’t any excuse for it. If you want to post MY pictures on YOUR Tumblr, that’s fine - share it along with credit to me - just do a direct share, a link to my site - that way a new viewer sees the source of the material. But pirating my work and posting it on other websites without my permission is fucking wrong and - if you haven’t noticed, you should, my work IS protected by copyright. All that I ask is that you share not only the image but the source as well. If I continue to find my work out in the wild without credit, I will begin to watermark the images, which looks bad, and I will find who is doing it and contact them directly about how to settle the problem. Please be fair. My photographs are part of the work that I do. I’m fucking giving it away, the least that can be done is for guys to say “Thank You” and tell others who produced the work. It’s not hard. It’s easy.

Should I be bummed or flattered - my art was copied for this poster. Now I’ve been blocked by @nimafadavi for questioning it. He blocked my wife too. Not cool. 🙁 It looks like a computer artist took a couple of my paintings and morphed them together. The background is cloned directly from my SAN CLEMENTE PIER painting. The wave came from my SPACE WAVE painting. If they liked my art so much they could have paid me to create it instead of paying someone to steal it. 😡 Repost from @mariabrophy • @Nimafadavi has Blocked me because I called him out on the THEFT of @drewbrophy art for this poster. Sending a cease and desist. But in the meantime - artists, how would you feel if your art was stolen and instead of dealing with it they block the artist’s manager?! Help me out and send @nimafadavi a little message that he needs to respect artists work.
